If this bird flu is killing a lot of the apex predators, I'm wondering what that's doing for fish populations. I asked ChatGPT but it couldn't tell me.

Does that mean you will remain grumpy about the lack of local services?

How do you go about straightening an Al boom? I have a duotone boom that got bent on one arm when I got catapulted. I'd like to have it available at least as a spare

What I don't understand about the bird flu is why we didn't get it sooner through the north of the continent. I can understand that birds that migrate all the way from the Arctic to Australia might drop dead on the way but there must be birds that just spend their time in the tropics, that flit between islands and end up in Australia.

It turns out that you get a tidal power electricity generator.
The Faroe Islands has been using the Minesto Dragon for the last couple of years, but I only came across it last night.
Interesting system. It tethers a marine glider and lets it fly in figure 8s across the tidestream. That gives it enough speed to run a turbine at the back of the glider in currents as slow as 0.5m/s, generating up to 1.2MW.
This is the best video I've found

Only obvious problem I can see beyond corrosion is that it would be a real whale hazard, unlike offshore wind turbines
