Hey guys, could you please suggest for parawing foil set. I got quiver of Frigate v1. Miami and only wind driven swells. I have SF980 but this is my light wind wing now. Usually with a wings I'm using HA500, MA500v2. I had for some time DW900, but I sold it. I really liked DW900 in terms of speed and glide. I'm was thinking about DW690, SF680, SF530 ??
I would appreciate you can share more about SF530 especially, the shape looks different form the rest of the sizes, does it feel faster ? does it glide better ? can this be all arounder for parawing ?
Presuming you mean you have the SF930 for light wind wind. I started parawing back in April with SF930/C70/145V2 and it was and is a great setup. Para is challenging and once I got the hang of it I could pump this foil and connect bumps easy. Its low end is insane for getting going. I would recommend using that until you are over the learning hump. When stashed the foil feels smaller, the amount of stability you get from a flagged wing is crazy, whole different story with a stashed para!
I recently got a second hand DW820 and am still getting used to it so winged with it a few times. Its low end for starting is higher than the SF930 and due to the high aspect you can't just pump it out of the water. For glide in bumps though it is class and where some bumps would outrun the SF930, the DW foil just sucks into the energy. Would I start para with it, not sure, SF930 better for getting there imo. I need a couple of para sessions on it though to really make up my mind - just waiting on wind.
I have not parawinged yet with the SF680 - winter is coming though and its only a matter of time and conditions. When learning para you spend a lot of time dicking around with tangles, restarts. etc, you want a foil that makes getting going again easy otherwise its just a major ball ache. The 680 will need some juice, can't wait :-)
