I bet you’re not really “dinging” the JP, just chipping the paint. The paint will, for sure, be more fragile than a hot coat board but real damage - through the fiber into the core, it should be atleast equal and a lot more durable to pressure, stiffer flex, less prone to delam, water intrusion.

I'm enjoying my SF 930 and 680 combo for winging our high desert thermals. I was on the MA 850 as my primary foil last season. The SF foils have really helped me start making my tacks more consistently. What tails are folks using with the 930 and 680. I've been on the 208 and 178. Thinking about picking up the 145 for more glide. Interested in hearing about what tails others like with the SF foils. Thanx, Mike

I ride the same combo and I just chopped the 178 pretty aggressively, like an inch on each side. I found when I started riding the 680 prone the 178 was overpowering the front and it was dropping out on the pump but a small chop helped a little bit and a bigger chop fixed the problem
entirely.

Tops!
thanks for the advice I’ll go for the sf1230..
cheers Chris

SMALLER. Get the 930, or maybe the 830. Until you get down to 680 it Doesnt really FEEL any smaller. It just trades lift for speed and speed gets you more lift so you come out even. I only wing my 930 if I go out and fail on my 680

So for me that stacked posture is about the relationship between wave energy and speed. If your body is bent your muscles are going to absorb the vertical component of wave energy where as if your vertical the energy has no place to go but into ride height and speed, conserving energy. Also it forces you to fly the foil more which is a better technique for turns

We gotta stop us in the word sinker in these discussions. It means something different for each rider. % of body weight so we know what each other are talking about

I’ve got a lot of these features on my cabrinha swift and I hate all of them. Wave piercing nose splashes water into the receded deck and I’ve got 10 lbs of water in the deck when I’m trying to get in foil and more splashes in as fast as it drains. Also all the volume in the domes is USELESS
