You'd think a 14 AR foil would be a chore to turn, so that's encouraging! How does the low end compare on the Solus (775 and 930) with your 830 Nomad on parawing?

I felt the same on my DFly Surf 112 learning parawing. 93kg. You adapt over time to the long, narrow, high volume shape but a smaller, parawing optimized shape follows the pull of the para much better and eliminates the tracky feel. I'm on the Arc 78L and it feels so much more stable than my DFly!

I've been winging an 85 cm in the gorge, but am interested in trying shorter as I become more downwind focused with the parawing. Any opinions on 75 or 80 cm in the gorge? Is upwind through the short and steep waves still OK?

I like 80cm for the Gorge ; 75 is a little short especially if you're super lit on the PW. You just don't have the length buffer in big gusts edging upwind through steep chop or maching down wind, but many people like the sportier feel if they can keep the foil in the water. You'll adjust to either really.

I'm a big fan of the KT range for casual riding for most people - they're just all kinda slow, which may bother some people eventually.

While the KT Atlas and Nomad are admittedly geared more towards the low-mid speed range of the performance side of things, they can both be pushed to much higher speeds. I've used GPS a ton and I'm not far off the speeds on my KT gear compared to the Armie stuff I owned previously. There's just a little more effort required to get them to higher speeds, but I wouldn't call them slow. There is that "raspy" feel coming from the high camber that is interpreted as drag by the brain, but actual speeds are still decent in my experience. Drag racing fast buddies using Armie MAV2s, HAV2s, etc on the wing prove this to me as well. I should mention that the new KT Apex mast notably improves all performance aspects of the KT foils now, as would the PX Army mast for theirs.

I’ve been riding the Solus in Maui. Low end is not as good as the Nomad or Atlas. The 930 Solus has a low end that feels similar to the Atlas 790. I was riding it w the 155 Nomad tail. OTOH it has insane glide and speed.
when I tried it I was riding the Stash v2. I recently switched to the BRM S3 which makes getting up so much easier. Can’t wait to try the Solus w the S3

Once you're riding swell downwind, how do you like the turning of the Solus? I'd expect glide/avg speed to be great, but is it "fun" to turn or too spanny to be playful?

77-85cm for me. Freedom of the longer mast is really nice but the response from the 77cm is great too. I go back and forth depending on swell size/riding speeds.
