New video on Exocet V7 380 raceboard just dropped on YT.
I like the increased tail volume on this board compared to Phantom 377.
New Loft sails also look nice.

Very nice, well done. Looks awesome👍
Looks like it will be a very versatile board, and interested to see pics of it in action.
Thanks also for sharing the dimensions I requested above, it is helpfull for design process of my next hybrid.

With pleasure. I find shape of this one pleasant to look at. Hope it'll go well...

Agree, the shape looks right to me for this type of board.

Thanks for the build update.

Are you able to share measurements of tail and nose width (one foot from each tip) , max thickness and position of widest point measured from the tail?

The F2 Lightning Prolite from 1985 is an old classic, the later F2 Lightning models have more volume and other refinements but for a 40 year old board it should still be a lot of fun in a range of conditions.

Earlier this year I created this blog to try and document the evolution of raceboards:

Nice categorisation of these boards, separating Formula hybrids, shortened raceboards, and big freerides makes the 3m category easier to understand.
Also agree with railing vs planing, When sailing the Windspeed hybrid in 15+ knots i can find an upwind planing mode with cb half down and mastrack in the centre, and the deep concaves seems to help the nose lift up.

Thanks for sharing info on your previous hybrid build. will be keen to hear how the new board goes. I've been wondering what is optimium width for these 3m long hybrid raceboards to rail upwind well and also plane early. The RSX at 93cm wide was too wide for easy railing, My other full length raceboards range in width from 64cm (F2 Lightning) to 67cm (Phantom 377), and the Phantom 299 hybrids is 68.8cm wide. I think 71cm wide as for your new board should be pretty good though.

Nice work, and inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
A couple of years back I rescued an old Windspeed ProAm 3m board from the curbside and resto modded into a hybrid raceboard.
It's short enough to fit in my car and great fun in conditions that I don't like foiling in like offshore, gusty winds and shallow water. It is fast and the CB allows me to go anywhere:

Seeing your pics as got me thinking of using this left over 9cm wide middle section from an old RSX into a new hybrid board a bit wider than the Windspeed with a wider tail like yours:

Some of my raceboards below. Also have Phantom 377 for racing, but the old school boards are more durable and handle better overall.
