Its pretty sad what the internet has become. The benefits of free information exchange, that included people in remote locations, has been destroyed by an explosion of social media misinformation, and now AI.

Not that surprising when you look at where print media and television have ended up. The US of A is a cultural desert, and we are blindly following them down the path to scrape a dollar from anything.

Thanks for the info guys just trying to work out whether I bother taking a board over as I’m only there for five days with the
family

If you are very competent riding waves and have an awesome board take it. If you just want to go for a paddle and straight line a few small waves hire.

Interesting concept but agree and will wait this one out a bit. Simon down here is a PPC dealer so may get a demo when they finally roll up.

I understand the advantages of a double skin but due to the fact I fall off in waves a bit the relaunch does worry me.

K.I.S.S. method for weight/board volume
>+20= full floater
+1-+19= semi floater
Kg= L is neutral
-1 to -19 semi sinker
<-20= full sinker

The argument I am trying to make here seems to be completely missed.

-20 L for a 50 kg rider is not the same as -20 L for a 110 kg rider.
The board volume under and above the waterline won't be the same in those 2 scenarios.
Absolute values are meaningless.
While % of BW is a much more meaningful and comparable metric from rider to rider.

What do you gain by having such a small board? Are you doing tricks- spinning the board in mid air or jumping loops etc?

I agree as I tow foil with a 28l board at 94kg and do not suddenly turn into Kai Lenny. Do the same turns on my parawing board or sup foil drive when I did that. Watch guys turn long DW boards and you realise it is more ability than tiny boards.

Why buy a 28L board to tow and not tow on your parawing board or your sup foil board? 🤔😉

Easier to start towing on a small board. Cannot sink start over 40l.

I’ve got a lot of these features on my cabrinha swift and I hate all of them. Wave piercing nose splashes water into the receded deck and I’ve got 10 lbs of water in the deck when I’m trying to get in foil and more splashes in as fast as it drains. Also all the volume in the domes is USELESS

Haha unlike you to not like the gear you buy 😂😂

Interesting, mine's even closer to the tail, it's 240mm for same measurement. Can you measure the top to the edge of the deck grip?

Mine is 300mm (tracks) and 270mm (rear of deck pad to back of the board)

300 to the deck pad for me. Seems a bit of a mixed bag

Mine is 400mm so actually pretty consistent. Longer boards have the mast tracks further forward and the deck pad further forward. Slight variation is with the location of the deck grip on the hump. Mine is not fully up the hump so the 50mm difference between mast track and deck pad (350/400) should be closer to 30mm like yours.

I really don't know that people are feeling what they think they are. We went from 3" thick and wide wingboards to 6" thick DW and it takes off early yes - but never heard anyone whine about thickness. They got so narrow they needed thickness.... still no whinges about the thickness. When we settled on 75cm ish mast I have not heard anyone say that an 80 completely ruins foiling for them
Olympic classes are on a 100-105 mast..... if you had to truly feel so connected to the foil, don't you think the guys spending $30K on gear and living the sport every second of their lives in the hope of being a medallist - would be wanting to be more connected too? Kite race foil have gone from boards that look like a coffee table to skinny ML boards too. Thick ones. The best kite foil racer is see is on a very thick 19" wide ML.

Do what feels right for you, and all for innovation but some of this 20mm closer to the foil thing is a little silly. IMHO. Emperor's New Clothes ......

Think it is more for turning on waves or swell. My Smik the Jack turns nicely on swell and waves with a recessed deck. Love the Ducati design above looks cool.

How do I qualify to immigrate to Australia?
Prospective applicants must be invited by the Australian Immigration Department to apply for the visa. Applicants wishing to emigrate to Australia on the Skilled Migrant Visa must have an occupation listed on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) or Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL).

yeh when i rode it was near the middle - could have gone back a smidge. I know someone who has one and has it about middle - armie riders. Each to their own i suppose. It does have some front foot pressure lift but that's a function of the flat mast box - whilst armie boards have built in rocker. Chemtrails you tried a mast shim - that's what JL used on his. and it could be more sensitive on that 5'4

If i had mine in the middle of the track my rear foot would be on top of my stab. It is just not in the right place on mine.

You got a photo of it. If it is a factory error Scotty may replace it.

Because we kill about 80000 Aussie kids every year through abortion.

Ok I wanna know why we never needed immigration to fill some jobs decades ago. Smart kids became doctors and stuff. Some of them made coffee or flipped burgers while at uni. Dumb kids dig holes at 14 and never went to uni. We had a full spectrum.
are aussies now too good so we need servants? If we cut immigration greatly and cut welfare would more Aussies go get the service industry jobs? I dunno just musings but it seems weird everything worked well right up to the last 20-30yrs..?

Aussies are like entitled Rango above struggling to get to the beach. No interest in low paid jobs. $100 an hour for trades is standard here. I have a bachelor degree and 35 year's experience and I do not get that. We live in strange times. Never been better on every metric but they still whinge. Life is good folks look on the bright side.

Big one - the positioning of the foil track is bananas. It feels like they never updated the location of the tracks when they scaled the model size, as the rail starts at the mid point of the rear strap, and then continues to the middle of the board, about a hand-width behind the front strap. So the only place it works for me riding Armie gear is wedged as far back as it can possibly go, and then its juuuust on the cusp of workable. If I was wearing straps, I am not sure this would be doable. As it stands I can't get the foil far enough back to be able to put my foot against the rear ridge (which would be the ideal, so you can pump up with foot pressing against that and then bring forward a smidge as you start downwinding). I would definitely recommend trialing this before you commit, as it may not work at all with your foil setup if your foot needs to be forward of the mast and/or you ride with straps. Might not be an issue with the larger sizes I suspect.

A pitty the mastrack is still an issue. I used ride SMIK boards but with Armie gear - mastrack to far back.

They are saying the other way around

Great review

I have a 6 x 22 custom with a tint in the resin no paint issues. Tracks are fine have Flux mast in the middle and foot on back kick plus I like the grip. A 10 from me

Hi Hilly,

What type of FD system are you using ?

I am not at the moment. Last one I had was the Gen 2 with max battery. If I did get one I think I would get the lightest one possible that has a decent run time with no efoiling. Still spoiled by using a super light board with jetski or boogie. But as I said before a stealth option is needed for busy days. Still looking at options.

Ordered a 4.3 and 5 to be my upwind/downwind tool. I do not downwind shuttle much and only in strong wind will keep the 2.5/3.5 Frigates for that as they pack down well. 5m PR in the backpack as security.

I hope they are as good as the reviews say. What I like the look of is the collapse in offshore winds I saw Dimitry doing on his vid.

surprised you got the 4.3 and a 5m as if my memory serves me rightly LOL,remember you are in the 100kgs crew like myself seems the 5.7 and 4.3 be good combo especially for backup if wind lulls out,4.3 and 5 so close together.I ordered 5.7/4.3/3.0 really like my 5.5m frigate though learned get along with a big PW pretty well

93kg now. Light wind PW doesn't interest me really. Tow boogie if swell and mtb if no swell are more fun imo.
