Shot during a 43nm passage from Whitefish Point to Grand Marais, MI on Sept 1st 2023. On the home stretch of a clockwise circumnavigation of Lake Superior. Sailing nearly close-hauled in a 20-30 kt SW wind with a single reefed main and staysail, averaging 5 - 6.5kts. Fortunately, able to hold a course within a few miles and parallel to shore, so waves were not more than 3-4ft. The boat was hard pressed, yet balanced and sailing herself.
