Every now and then a board comes along that riders start quietly raving about. Not big marketing hype — just people saying, “you need to try this thing.” The Omen Emissary is one of those boards. I’ll admit straight away — I’m a bit late to the party on this one. This board has been around for a while, and I’ve heard plenty of good things, but I wasn’t convinced it would suit the kind of conditions we get here in Sydney. Light sea breezes, messy wind lines, and the reality of not wanting to be stuck in the water longer than necessary. So dropping down to a 66L sinker felt like a bit of a gamble. But after a good number of sessions across power winging and winging, I can say this board genuinely surprised me. Not just in how early it gets going… but how stable, efficient, and forgiving it is once you’re up and riding. What surprised me here is just how far you can push that lower volume while still keeping things usable.
