Shop nowThe F-One Frigate V2 has finally arrived — but after such a long wait, has F-One actually made it better? The original Frigate was one of the best all-round parawings I tested, but the V2 takes a noticeably different direction. It’s faster, more efficient, better upwind and far more performance-focused, but that extra performance comes with some compromises. In this review I test the Frigate V2 across a wide range of conditions, from lighter winds right through to properly powered and gusty sessions. I’ll cover the bar and harness line, stability, speed, upwind performance, manoeuvres, stowing, low-end power and where I think the V2 sits compared with some of the best performance parawings currently on the market. I’ll also compare it directly against wings including the Ozone AfterBurner, PPC Orbit, Naish Hatch V2, Ozone Pocket Rocket V2 and Ozone Flow V2. The big question is whether F-One have improved the Frigate — or simply turned it into a more specialised wing. For intermediate and advanced riders chasing speed, efficiency and strong-wind performance, there is a lot to like here. But if easy low-end power and all-round usability are your priorities, there are some important things you need to know before choosing your size.
