Sailing is playing a part in the recovery of Queensland from a spate of devastating natural disasters, and teen-aged solo round-world sailor Jessica Watson has lent her now famous face to assist the state in its $100,000 2011 Season of Sailing Campaign. Jessica, who also won Young Australian of the Year will personally promote all the 2011 Season of Sailing events. Queensland Tourism Minister Jan Jarratt said the campaign would promote sailing events along the state's coastline between April 22 and September 6, with regattas in Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, Central Queensland, the Whitsundays and Townsville.
