Sydney Hobart - On December 28th 2005, Bob Oatley?s supermaxi Wild Oats XI crossed the Sydney Hobart finish line in the Derwent at 7:40am, to set a new race record of one day, 18 hours, 40 minutes and 10 seconds. Fast forward or should we say slow forward five years and Oats XI is still racing south, 190 miles from the finish line. She was at 41 29 150 23 at the sked, some 77 miles ahead of Wild Thing. This mornings radio sked is currently in progress. Last years handicap winner Two True has retired from the race. she ...
