Kiters cross the Torres Straits for breast cancer research

Next month, fourteen kiteboarders will kite from Australia to Papua New Guinea. 280km from shoreline to shoreline in a bid to raise money for breast cancer.
 
They're doing it over a week, by island hopping between the uninhabited islands in the Torres Strait. Dodging Tiger sharks, hundred of thousands of crocodiles and of course the whatever weather they encounter along the way.

It's all in the name of the McGrath Foundation, and the goal is a whopping $100,000!!! Not just helping the McGrath foundation, these guys (and girl) will be running kite flying clinics with the local kids along the way. As well as getting in an amongst the local communities throughout the Torres Strait. 

Instead of collecting sponsorship money to fund the journey, each kiter is paying their own way and all donations will go to the McGrath foundation. It's a record with a difference, and if you're going to make just one donation this year, make it to these guys because it's a fantastic cause, a great group of kiters and an incredible journey.
