Kiters raise $10,000 for charity!

Faced with less than reasonable winds yesterday, WAKSA members and supporters gathered at Brighton Beach for a sausage sizzle in support of Redkite. Whilst it was a small turn out, it wasn't unexpected given the forecast.

Karen Fleischer, President of the WA Redkite board, made a short speech and presented prizes to the
members.

Wearing an outrageous one piece red lycra suit, Aaron Graham took home the 50" plasma TV after raising almost $2,200; Stephen Baldry won a thruster from Shinnworld Boards and Miles Merckel won complimentary tickets to Kitestock 2011.

Check out some of the photos on www.waksa.org.au .

As of lunch time yesterday, members had managed to raise $10,135 which will support a number of  Redkite families over the coming year.

Thanks to all participating members for their efforts, and thank you to the event sponsors, ShinnWorld
Board and Portside Marine.
