Rob Douglas record holder on Cabrinha Switchblade

Nobody can deny that this year's Leritx Speed Challenge has provided fantastic entertainment and proven that - for now - kitesurfers are the fastest thing on the water.

The fastest riders for this year's challenge were as follows:

1st - Rob Douglas with 55.65 (USA)
2nd - Sebastien Cattelan with 55.49 (France)
3rd - Alex Caizergues with 54.93 (France)
4th - Sebatien Salerno with 54.28 (France)
5th - Sylvain Hoceini with 52.90 (France)

It really did come down to the wire, and Rob was clearly stoked to have stolen the record in challenging conditions: over 45 knots of breeze and a redirected trench which ended in a difficult finishing area (totally enclosed and surrounded by rocks!).

Check out the spec for next year's Switchblade - maybe you can hit 50+ knots?!
