The inspiration behind the new for 2013 Starboard NuEvo

The newly released Starboard NuEvo has been in development for the last four years and leads a revolution in wave board design. Starboard recruited the help and services of James Hooper - Nude Boards - to shape and design their new line, which focuses on giving the end user a high performance, surfboard style wave board allowing the rider to go more vertical and deliver gouging turns with ease.

Now the third episode of Starboard's Tiki Documentaries continues with an in depth look at how the inspiration and original idea for the NuEvo came about, as well as Hooper talking about how to set the board up for different conditions in order to gain the best out of the NuEvo. Ben Severne (Starboard / Severne) also joins the cast to share his insight about the development of this revolutionary board, whilst outlining how the board performs on the water.

As well as interviews with Hooper and Severne there's also terrific footage of the board in action, which truly shows the capability of the board.

Here's what Starboard have to say about the NuEvo:

"The NuEvo is a high-performance surfboard style wave board. It excels in sideshore to side-onshore conditions, from knee to logo high waves. Its specialties are tight rail turns with excellent rail-to-rail transitions and extra-tight top turns. The NuEvos still have good capabilities in larger side-offshore wave conditions."
