North Sails Win Design Award

The iFront boom secures the highest accolade in international design awards.

North Sails have recently secured the prestigious Red Dot design award at one of the most highly acclaimed international design competitions, for their innovative iFront boom.

Dubbed, "?the fastest and most comfortable North Sails boom front piece with unique trimming and tuning opportunities?", the boom secured the Red Dot seal, which is reserved for ?the most innovative, creative, high quality products', after battling it out with 3231 products from 49 nations. In total only 683 products were awarded the Red Dot seal, which also included multi national players like Apple.

The iFront will be included in an exhibition documenting all the Red Dot winner of 2009, at the Red Dot Design museum. Congratulations to North Sails for their efforts.

On a slightly different note, North Sails have just released a statement proclaiming the upcoming release of their brand new 3-battern wave sail, named Box the Fly. We suggest those getting excited about the prospect of a sub 3m luff wave sail take a slightly closer at the date of this release and the dubious name of this apparent project.
