DST starts Sunday night in Tassie, but we are usually ahead of the rest of the country The best thing is I can fly to Melbourne and get there before I've left

I work flexi hours so it doesn't bother me either way.

Gets a bit confusing in the fishing industry with different rule changes.

Well in WA daylight saving is a crock, we have plenty of afternoon sunshine without tampering with the clock.

yeah i like it while it actually benifits the day, but in west oz it end to late, and at 5 oclock it is too dark to sail, so it really minimalizes my time on the water after school, but mind you next year i dont have school, so this wont effect me to much,

end 5 weeks early and it will be great!

rowing at 5:30 sucks but kiting the arvo away till quarter to nine makes up for it.

Hell yeah, same here. After the holidays, only two weeks of school left. Then kiting EVERY SINGLE WINDY DAY!!!! (except exams, but they don't count as school, and they're all in the morning)

The only problem i see, is that when i work (yeah fish and chip shop!) its in the afternoon. I get a little confused, but this is how i see it, if the breeze comes in at 3 (non-daylight saving times) its actually then 4(daylight saving time)., but it ends up being the breeze comes in closer to my start time around 5, and then sometimes i sit at work, watching the trees blow, flipping over a stupid fish. You see my slight problem, but i still like the idea.

Agree with Spot1
When I work in Perth I finish work around 230-300pm. I usually go straight from work to the beach. But with DLS I have to wait around for the wind to fill in

I'm voting NO to DLS. I want to golf at 5:30 in the morning then sail in the arvo - maybe fill in the downtime with some work. I think it should be daylight saving in the winter anyway - kinda makes sense to me.

why is it that those who seem to dislike daylight savings already work convenient hours that lets them play during the day or are completely retarded and think it means more sunlight in a day.

i think the vote to keep daylight saving will be a landside for the yays.

guessing 80% of the working population do the 9-5 and would prefer to come home and have a couple of hrs to enjoy extra daylight in the summer months.

make it 2hrs extra

Y'know the whole issue winds me up, because none of the reasons given by the anti dlsaving brigade make any sense. And it's just ridiculous not having it. You wake up at 4am in summer (pre-dls) to go for a piss and it's daylight. Worse you stagger out of a nightclub at 4am it's daylight and there are early morning joggers passing you in the street. Bastards.

Best thing since sliced bread

Bonus!! In summer I will start/finish work earlier, get in the water around 4.30ish have a tops 2+hr sesh and actually get home before the kids are asleep for some quality time... whats not to love about that?

Don't be no crazy fool - vote yes to DLS. Mr T does..

All we need now is some breeze... fool!

Yeah funny that. I was wondering why people want daylight saving, 8pm and its still daylight and people are still out sailing.

all those that whinge about not getting the kids to sleep try taking them to the park instead of letting them watch TV and play PlayStation all night

when we were kids we played out side from school to bedtime and slepted no probs at all.
In bed at 7pm dark at 9.45pm

get the kids out side getting fit, beat the obesity and they will sleep like a baby

The surf **** in summer anyway so whats the point getting up at 4am to grovel in knee high waves

I work outside and with dls the hottest time of the day has moved forward one hour which means less time working in extreme heat there fore less chance of getting skin cancer

call me selfish but surly that has to be a good thing

theres nothing worse than getting to work at 6am and its already hot cause the sun already been up for 2 hours and i cant start any earler cause we cant make any noise till 7 o'clock

windsurfing wise it dosent bother me i work for myself and never miss a windy day anyway but i always felt sorry for the guys who get to the beach at 6pm and have to rush like hell to try and get an hours sail in

now i can drive to lano get there at 4pm sail to 7pm and drive home when its still light less chance of falling a sleep behind the wheel

awesome bring on summer
