... We are big power users and have noticed a huge diffrence in our bills, last years bill usually 650 now $122. ...

Do you mean your quarterly bill is usually $650? This would be close to average in QLD i'd guess, not that big.

I put in 5.6kw with maximum 'coastal corrosion resistance' (~100m to beach) and it cost me about $9000 after rebate.

My bill was approx $2800 per year (family of 4, big house, 2 fridges, small pool and very minimal AC) and is now approx $1200 p/a (with increased A/C use).

On track for 5 year payoff and less if power prices increase.

Solar, Pools, and Air Conditioning go hand in hand.

We get billed every two months not three.

For my area - 28deg summer, 52deg autumn/spring & 76deg for winter!!! Maybe I should go with a higher angle based on those figures? The advice I got was 55-60 for the best annual average as the longer days and hotter sun in summer don't need the full exposure.

Bit confusing as they are calculating from a vertical - I was using horizontal - look at the diagrams below.

exactly..... roof pitch is calculated up from horizontal and so should panel angles ..... 76 deg is very close to vertical !

Yep - got it wrong sorry (shouldn't go from memory and should have cut/paste)...too many holiday drinks over the break and exhausting windsurfing sesh's have wrecked my memory retention.

I should have put - 28deg winter, 52deg autumn/spring & 76deg for summer (from vertical).

So from horizontal;

Wint - 62deg
Aut/Spr - 38deg
Sum - 14deg

For my purpose I need to work the storage system to suit the colder months moreso as the longer/hotter summer days take care of themselves (and I won't be working as many hours in summer anyways.)

main thing is to get GOOD inverter ie SUNNY BOY, you can buy the panels yourself get the inverter get a registered solar electrician to install and then you get the rebate off the government that all the companies say just sighn this over to them, and they will pick up a few thousand dollars that can be yours by a little bit of reseach its very easy
