Welcome to the newcomer!! One of the great things about living in a democracy is that we can say and do whatever we want(within the law). I think women are great and that if there were more in powerful positions that the world would be a better place,as they aren't usually fired up with testosterone and egos , like many of us are.
Having said that I have never had a problem working under a woman

Do I hold my breath and dive in??? Why not. This thread just proves that IN THE MINDS OF MOST MEN women are not and never will be equal, in every industry, sport and art. Even if their work/ skills/art is equal to or better than those of men.
Or did I just take the bait?

Susie - your photos are fantastic and you are obviously talented in this area. I don't think anyone with half a brain would say that a bloke could take better photos..I don't think it is fair to pigeon hole men and say that we are all chauvinistic pigs....

Actually I didnt say ALL. I said most. But not the ones I hang around with NOW. Not at all. Just my observations. In life and work in general. And I didnt say chauvinistic pigs. I dont think that. It was an observation. And I guess finally acceptance of that attitude. Thats the attitude a lot of men have. Kind of a Boys Club attitude like revenge for us girls being allowed in the front bar. Re photography, funny you should say that. I was in a Camera Store a few months ago, and I overhead the guy next to me saying to the female staff member that there was no good female photographers, that they dont understand photography and cant take good shots. The staff member handled it really well but my hair stood on end. And I have LOTS to learn about photography, but thanks for your comments.

Oh and I dont mean YOU guys.

Pass me the popcorn now please....

Why should they be treated equally if they only make 3/4 of what a man makes?

I went kiting this afternoon. We went to One Mile Beach, just south of Nelson Bay. Cracker North Easter but really gusty owing to the promontory.

Do not attempt in a North Easter, better to go to Fingal Bay or Stockton.

The ol horse in the gimp hole

Jack Nicholson's character in a few good men on the subject of female superior officers in the army...

"promote em all I say, cos this is true, if you havn't gotten a blow job from a superior officer.....well your'e just letting the best of life pass you by"

I think there's something in that for all of us.

Is this person a newcomer? Or someone who, for some reason, doesn't want to use their regular login?

Who can know??????

nYeeesss, who can know I wonder.

If anyone DID know it would be a damn shame to reveal it before Growler had the chance to bare his soul further. This one's got legs I think.

Maybe that's the subtle counterpoise like Smooch's. Speaking of Smooch where is she?

growler may have a point.... but its a flipping dumb one.
men might be better at women at a few things, but then its a bit like saying there are no women serial killers, or no woman ever started a war....
men and woman are 100% equal cause one without the other would not exist....

Speaking of turkey talk that reminds me of an ancient classic -

Little Red Riding Hood was walking through the woods with a basket of goodies for Grandma.
Suddenly out from behind a tree jumped the Big Bad Wolf and said with a fierce growl "I'm going to GOBBLE YOU UP"
To which LRRH responded, "Gobble gobble, doesn't anyone f'k anymore"
(sorry)

Thanks guys for the feedback. I couched this question on this site to get some idea of an average view of society. A sociological snapshot as it where.
What I was looking at was the acceptance/rejection of fundamental truths.
For the record I kite and surf as well as SUP.
At no point did I attempt to denigrate women with my statement.
On the contrary if you read my post properly I actually laud them.
It is possible to make an observation without debating it.

So what did you conclude about agreement/disagreement with your postulate?

1 Women are not equal to men.
As much as they try and as much as they would like to think so they plain and simply are not. I would say they are 9/10s of men. That isn't to say men are better than women. I would class most women that I have met as BETTER than most men I have met in that they are more caring, kinder, etc. But if you took the best male cook/surfer/knitter/tennis player/artist/musician/politician/anything and matched them against the best female then the male would dominate."

I have to say the denigration that you deny is implicit in your post. Perhaps it could have been phrased a little better. But what can you draw from the responses you got. We all pretty much agree that women and men are different (surprise surprise) but you imply a value to that difference which is to say that women are inferior beings. Is this your fundamental truth? I'm sure there are some men who would agree with that. I think they would be unlikely to air such a view here though so your survey is indeterminate.

It boils down to a compliance with a value set. If one's values are totally oriented towards male dominant skills then women will appear by that measure to be inferior. Is this bias perhaps what you are trying to discover?

The wonderful thing about Fundamental Truths is that time proves them right.
As much as people will argue (and it would seem that the default setting for most people is to argue their point) the truth eventually proves itself.
Global warming, Equality between men and women, whatever. Time will show it.
I suggest you don't stress, go surfing, relax, help those that are less well off and be true to yourself. What will be ,will be despite what you type.
No more from me on this
Thanks again.

That view includes what some would call, seriously politically incorrect beliefs.

I will disclose those beliefs one by one to see if there is any supportive school.

I really wonder but is there anyone out there that shares my belief
