I know someone who chains (big links) his motorbike even in his own garage.
I don't know that it'll prevent the bastards from get it though..

I'm in padbury nor, and apparently a few places have been hit.
Someone saw a van pull in front of my yard, got out with lawn mowing gear and started working while their mate robbed the place.
Sound to me like a pro crook, targeting small expensive stuff. (exept mbike)
So I'm at home now with the wife waiting for the cops.
So, lawnmower men arnt so innocent afterall!

Crime is definitely on the rise. We are also NOR, in Edgewater. 2 years ago, burglaries in the area were unheard of, but in the past few months loads of houses around us have been hit. Coming from South Africa, I don't want to go back to having to have burglar bars on the windows, electric fences etc. What we have done is installed hidden cameras all around our house and motion detectors, so, although it won't prevent the crime, we will have nice movie clips to give to the police to help apprehend the suckers.

Sorry about your belongings being lifted. Hopefully you are insured?

Cheers guys, yeah we are insured but I dunno about the cash, It was in a safe along with the jewlery so fingers crossed, which they ripped half the wall apart to get off.
The bike was locked with 1 inch steel rope in a locked shed, so at the end of the day if you've been targeted they'll find a way.
The bike was pretty nutsy so karma will sort them out.

Thieving deceptive scumbags .... hope you had enough insurance coverage Spok (even though some of the stuff you mentioned probbly won't be exactly replaced mate) .....
Place a message at your local supermarket pin-up noticeboard etc about the lawnmowing scam too i reckon , the more folks that know - the more that may get a better sighting & description of them , scum absolute scum!

We almost got broken into early hours of the morning a couple of weeks ago- one of those stinking hot nights we left our security screen thingo rolled up a bit to try and get a little breeze through the house.

Around 330ish there were 3 maybe 4 blokes in our front yard, one started fiddling with the window, they claimed to be looking for a lost mobile phone when I confronted them.

Dont know if it was seeing me starkers, or the oily click that made them decamp in the general direction of away.
I would have thought seeing me starkers would have made them crack up giggling- but I could be wrong......

I saw a neon road sign down at Mullaloo a few weeks back saying be care full as a spat of breakin's were happening..

Seems West Perth is a target for thieves too, I've had motorbike and a phone stolen in separate thefts here, both during business hours.

The helpful people in the office across the road from the bike thought that the person bashing off the steering lock and hotwiring it 'might' not have been the owner, so they took this helpful photo on a mobile phone:

Total of goods + damage was in exess of 30k! And Being a good score the the coppers reckon they'll be back, which is not a comforting feeling.
The pricks also stole a file full of receipts aswell so they new what they were doing. Goods are worth more/easier to move with proof of purchase.
I've always liked dogs so this weekend I'm goin dog shopping. I had a ridgeback years ago and he was cool so I might get another, any suggestions?

My car's windows were smashed a while ago (in my garage) 2000$ damage just to steal 100$ car radio...

guys came back a week later (I was doing night shift) and broke in the house, I got home 2mins too late....

I bought a Pitbull and a large Beauceron shepherd, haven't been annoyed since....

So a Garage door was installed and soon afterwards your house got ransacked? Sounds real suss. Just wondering if you were at home when the installers were working at your house?

For an immoral person it wouldn't take long to walk around your house, write up a quick plan, jot down where the good items are (and what tools are needed to steel them) and use that info themselves or even pass it on.

I build Pergolas at residential properties. Most people have the trust to leave the house and let me work away outside for at least some part of the day. Some people give me their house keys, garage door remote, and show me where the kettle, cups and coffee are located. "I'll leave you to it, Bye."!

I usually decline their invitation to use their house when their not home unless it's necessary.

It's great that they trust me but it spins me out; quietly sitting down at someones dinner table all by myself having a coffee and a biscuit with all their family photos staring at me!

My Ridgeback hates anyone - it doesn't know (and a few it does), that has a backpack, hat, beard, limp, cross-eyes, dark skin, light skin, lisp, strange walk, normal walk, joggers, old men, people that won't listen when told "she's not friendly", people that won't listen when they are drunk and decide to get in her face to say hello (couple of close calls there with friends) and I could go on....

My Ridgeback loves us and it's home and would definitely scare the **** out of (or worse) anyone who foolishly invited themselves in. [}:)]

girlfriend of mine (many years ago) had a german shepherd with a growl like that, except you only heard the growl if you were patting it or being nice to it - scratching its belly etc.
Turns out as a pup it was raised by a cat and it was just purring at me.

scared the bejeezus outa me the first time.
