George Arthur would not have tolerated such nonsense in the good old days.... Herrison Island would have been cleared up quick smart.
Anyone read our colonial history and come across 'The Black War' 1820's-1830??? And subsequently 'The Black Line'?
Before anyone comments I'm racist, I'm merely quoting past history....
the black war didnt stop in 1830- it was going on full pelt well into the 1900's.
My grandfathers diaries of his police service- and those of other family members- in our Northwest have a lot of detailed and tragic notes of "punitive expeditions" they were ordered to participate in.
The aboriginals of W.A. (and not forgetting the rest of Australia) have plenty to protest about after what we inflicted upon them. Someplace in our constitution, there is supposed to be a percentage of our revenue set aside for the betterment of our native population. As far as I know, we have ignored that bit of fine print since before the ink dried on the constitution.
Let them protest all they want- as long as they comply with the same rules I would have to stick to.
Arrive in the morning- protest all day- pack up at sundown and go home, go back next day. leave the area clean and tidy. dont upset the people who you want on your side. you wont get support or sympathy from anyone you insult, upset, especially if you endanger their property or family.
If you refuse to be part of our society, support yourselves and dont expect or demand handouts from those you are insulting, upsetting, disrupting, or causing injury to.
respect is something earned- not given upon demand.
