How many holes in a crumpet?
Funny you thought that. I was watching a programme about how they make baked beans (a documentary series on food and nutrition called Big Cook Little Cook, staring Ben and Small) and I was wondering not how many beans are in an average tin (domestic size tin 420g) but what the best way to count them would be.
Obviosuly you could empty them all out and count them one by one, eating each as you counted it so you didn't double count any, but what would happen if you lost count ?
Or you could put a small amount into a measuing jug and either count them or weight them and multiply out to a bigger tin.
They didn't discuss this in the TV programme. But it did get me thinking.
