I think that you would be better off training your mind to look at the arrows as pointing downwind. All met data. grib files, windfinder, windguru, seabreeze and even the lovely graphics on the TV weather have the arrows pointing downwind. The TV graphics have the arrows pointing and moving downwind to show the time based changes in direction. Met data has little tails to indicate wind strength. If you changed seabreeze then everytime you look at another source you will be confused.
I do understand your point however, and as a long time sailor I have always faced into the wind to determine strength and direction, which is I guess why I am comfortable with the fact that you face North in a Northerly. But you should remember that only the windex arrow points into the wind, flags and sails point downwind and those footballers that throw grass into the air don't expect it to fly upwind. I think you will be better off to train yourself to see all arrows on screen/paper as pointing downwind to avoid confusion. And don't forget that the windex arrow points into the apparent wind not the true wind anyway.
