I just have to tell you all....

I'm a qualified TEACHER!

Interview this Thursday!

PM me if you know of, or are associated with any schools that might have vacancies for 09.

Lets hope we get some decent winds over the following months and weekends to celebrate! [}:)]

I'm a qualified teacher too. Got the card to prove it. Big tip. If you value your sanity get into a private or selective school. Otherwise resign yourself to working with kids who don't care about learning and parents who tell you to f*ck off if you try to work out reasons why their child is not achieving their best.

There are easier ways to make $50 or $60K a year.

I'm guessing this is a cry for help from an poor illiterate soul who requires some personal tutoring from liz?

Btw, good onya Liz - hope you turn out to prove the critics wrong about teachers.

lol well first its Kindergarten , and no... I worked in childcare 0-2 years, and 3-5 room, Before and After School Care and Vacation Care.

All my practicums have been Year 3, Year 6/7, Year 3/4 and Year 7 this year for 10 weeks =]

I would love a year 7 class, otherwise, year 6, 5 or 4.... I'd also work in a High School teaching maths and graphics as last preference...

Come and sort out the school my son goes to Liz !

The after school hours / vacation care people are treated like baby sitters at best.
The room they have has to be shared with the dog club. If they leave anything out it goes missing, Nintendo unit, soccer balls, artwork the kids have done etc. The only other people using the room are the dog club so it's not hard to figure out who’s stealing the stuff but the school management will not take any action, it seems that the dog club has a higher priority than the school kids.

If you want a challenge then this one is it

Wish I had a cool kitesurfin teach (spesh in cute kini botts) when I was a grommy... I may have stayed away from the durries and other nonsense and kept healthy.. at very least I would have gone to the classes and paid attention to every word she uttered.

Good luck with the fat, ignorant masses Liz! Whip em' into shape baby.

haha I know you mean it light heartedly... but...

#1 It's illegal
#2 I am a Primary School teacher; so up to year 10.

We had a teacher at our high school who was the same, and is now married to her. She was in yr 11 and 12 and he was the teacher!

OR do you mean I can get with another teacher!? LOL

I'll raise you:

We had girls at my school (I found out later) that were doing twin PE teachers,
and one of their wives killed herself... or did she? Jury still out on that one.

Yes this has been a cold (read hot) case with the dept of PP for some time now - one of them was teaching up here at Girl's School and when said school found out they kindly showed him the door. All sorts of stories about where the wife's body is buried. The school girl married him but later divorced and gave evidence - memory of case a little sketchy though.

I feel you may be being a bit gereralist Moby'. So you've never had a student in the public system who cared about learning? Just because a childs family is financial enough to afford to send him to a private school doesn't mean the child cares more about learning. I'm thinkin' maybe you just had some unfortunate experience recently.

How many weeks holiday per year for your $60K?...... U got it easy !!!! (imho)
(I have this debate often with friends who are teachers and complain about how hard it is......as they skip out the door at 3.15pm)

Congrats Liz. If your enthusiasm is anything to go by, you'll be one of the goodies.

If you don't have the personality for it teaching is nothing but stress. If you do it's very rewarding. You have to be a people person. They should do personality tests before they allow you to enrol in teaching studies imho.

Congrats and best wished for your career Liz.
Now you just have to worry about making sure you have enough experience with this type of political correctness b*****t!!!!!!!!!
This morning my wife signed a permission slip stating the following..............
"please sign slip to enable your child to remove their shoes (no thongs for sand play) so that he/she can paddle in the water"

I mean for christs sake whats next???
"sorry kid cant help you, no permission slip so you cant blow your nose""

I know this is not the teachers fault but the departments and society in general but HTFU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rant over, I need a holiday[}:)]

Your generalisations astound me Moby. My wife teaches in the public system as do my mother, sister and ex brother in law (who now works as an advisor to the NSW Minister for Education).
Maybe it is the contempt you have just shown toward the students and parents that is the root of your problem.
Elizabeth good luck on your new career path and I hope you enjoy and get immense happiness out of moulding the children we put in your trust into smart, articulate and confident adults.

She's a kiter. She's used to copping a lot of flak.

Also, there are other teaching jobs with even more money, even more holidays and you have much less responsibility, if any at all. Think about it .

Is what I'm planning to do when I pay most of this frickin' mortgage off.
