The best flat water in WA happens to be in the Houtman Abrolhos Islands Pelsardt group. The islands are only 1m high and many of them run East West. Strong wind with no obstructions, no trees and crystal water as smooth as you can imagine. Nice waves on the other side too!

Awesome kiting few have ever seen.
But yep, Alva in QLD, also Bushlands beach in Townsville on the right tide. Augusta is good but gusty, Pelican Point the corner of Woolooware Bay in Sydney in a Southerly, Altona in Vic in the right tide.

And many more, Australia is surely the lucky country.

Good winds,

What about the breakwall at the Stkilda pier on a 20knot wind. Scream out to the point on dead flat water and boost of the first roller coming through. Luv it.

Aye its warmed up now, better make the most of it cos its cold again in a month or two. Is hayling island club only like west wittering or open to all? where do you launch from, doing a bit of traveling this year now kids are offhand. I was down the beach all weekend this week got to a massive 29c, just no bloody wind.

Hey Nick, as long as you have BKSA membership you can ride there, just not 1 hour each side of high tide, and don't set up/launch on top of the shingle bank (annoys the golfers and apparently its a site of scientific interest as well). The club isn't as full on as the Witterings set up. Chris Bull has a shop and school running out of there, and he is down there a lot keeping an eye on things.
They seem to have been clamping down on non-member this year, taking things a little more seriously, but I think it more on the weekends when it firing and you get 100+ people there.

Off to the West Coast of France, driving down through to Greece in 2 weeks though! Can't wait!

Think you'll find you need to be a member of HKA to kite at Hayling. There is a one off allowance if you're a BKSA member and sign a form.

www.hka.org.uk/Default.aspx

Looks a bit more organised but bet there's no facilities for members or even discounted parking.

I'm a member of the HKA, yeah and I have only been asked once to prove my membership and that was on a weekend. The only facilities available is a shower at the pub, its actually quite a good shower (esp when its freaking cold). The parking has been put up this year, but they only seem to inspect when it is busy (tight now summer holidays and the carpark is full). Considering parking is now £5 a day there its bit rich, most of the time its not that busy.

Anyway, I digress, we seem to have hijacked the thread.

My favourite flat water spots in Aus are

Lancellin and St Kilda.

there is no flat water in Albany, I wouldn't even go down there to look if i were you. Especially not at the PRSC at mid to low tide.

Lizard Is is nice, but not what I would list as the best FLAT water kitespot. It's not bad when the tide is low, wind is under 25kn and you're just down wind of some coral.... and then I've still been on flatter. Low tides at: Denham WA, Elliot Heads QLD, Wello QLD, Old Bar NSW come to mind.
