There was enough wind yesterday for a sail, looking up the coast there were about 10 guys out on <15m inflatable kites. Light wind sailing is pretty fkn boring but looks like we are stuck with it for a while....if the wind is 12 knots..then you cant seem to get going much faster than 12-15 knots on the water. Its like going for a surf at brighton - never great but gets you wet.

Those Warriors they must hold their re-sale value. Someone got $1750 for their second hand kite, when you can buy a brand new Caution 15m and get going in pretty much the same wind for $500 thats not bad re-sale. In fact, I think for that money you could get virtually any inflatable kite you want right now brand new.

Anyway - need some decent wind and swell thanks too ta

BTW Damo committed one of the few moral sins with a foil - NEVER drag it through the water! Always go with the flow if the kite is on the water.

If you can't relaunch for any reason (sounds like Damo had zero wind hence the kite falling out of the sky to start with) your options are:

If there is any wind at all but not enough to get going on your board - wind your lines in (safety leash lines first - just like a LEI) until you get to the kite then grab the two pulleys where the bridle lines join and relaunch your kite off to one side to drag yourself back to the beach. Leave the lines connected and put the bar through the foot straps and just tow the board behind you. You can lie on the board but I have found it just as fast to tow it.

Or if nil or offshore wind then deflate the kite and roll it up then swim in.
