Cabrinha Epic Promo Tour 2006, Australia

Spring is here and excitement for kitesurfing is thick in the air. Everyone is frothing over the new equipment and with good reason. But, with unrelenting pimping and seemingly endless opinions, it's hard to separate the facts from the fiction.

So make up your own mind.

Join the Cabrinha team as we take on Australia's most popular destinations and give you a chance to ride all of the new equipment. With more than a dozen demo kites and boards, don't miss this opportunity to feel the difference yourself. Try the Crossbow2, Switchblade2 and Contra kites along with the new Imperial, Custom and Prodigy boards. Also check out the latest Cabrinha Surf Project boards and equipment.

Meet and ride with Cam Dietrich, Cabrinha head tester and pro-team rider, as well as our national team riders, Rich, Dale, Keahi and team leader, Hudson.

Check out the schedule to see when the tour is coming to your local spot. The exact beaches will be locked in no less than two days before each date, depending on the forecast.

Stay tuned for regular news and photos as the tour unleashes from November 9th.

Saw these Cabrinha stickers plastered all over a van and trailer driving down through town today in northern NSW - so went and got my car to follow it down to the beach.

The wind was pumping, perfect conditions - thought I'd see new kites everywhere, and get to try the latest and greatest.

Nuh - just white caps, seagulls, backpackers, emos and schoolies.

Hey guys and girls,

The first demo day went off!! It was chilly by Queensland standards but the rain stayed away and Caloundra turned on a cranking 20-25 knot SE plus outgoing tide for a full day of action.

On Saturday we will be at Brighton/Sandgate on Flinder's Parade at Nineteenth Avenue from about 1pm. With a possible NE seabreeze we will hang out until about 4pm if it is not windy and until later if it is.

On Sunday we will be at the finishing point of the Gold Coast Surf Downwinder, on Marine Parade at Chairlift East Avenue, again from about 1pm.

See you there.

Check out www.cabrinhakites.com/core and click on the Epic Promo Tour link on the left for more info.

Holy Random Weather Batman! So far we have missed out on the classic WA seabreezes but have still managed some close-to-Epic action at Margaret River the last couple days.

On Friday we are planning to be at Woodies for a light seabreeze. Hopefully it turns on for us. Come down and check out the action and try a few kites and/or boards if you're interested.

On Saturday, we'll probably be at Scarborough and the forecast is again for a light seabreeze. Stay tuned for more info tomorrow.

Big thanks to Tony Dale Huddo Cam Brock Keahi Rich Marine, did I miss anyone, sorry if I did.
It was a great, err epic day at Dolls, lots of people got to try lots of new gear, tide was sucking a bit later in the day, but otherwise it was good.
Kited over to Towra at one stage but there was no-one out at Kurnell, they finish early over there hey?
I think they all have to back in their rooms by 4pm?

Well, Mambo was as good as ever with plenty of wind and some good small waves. Thanks to John Smythe, the Merimbula Sailboard Club and all the organisors, sponsors and of course the riders who make it what it is.

The crew has moved on to Melbourne and, after a bit of rest, we are heading to Point Henry today (20 knots NE). If anyone is interested and has the kind of last minute flexibility we all envy, please join us and you are welcome to demo some equipment. We'll be there are about 1pm.

A small change of plans for the weekend demo in Melbourne: we are going to do one demo day at Brighton on Saturday from about 11am since the wind doesn't look good for Sunday and there is a lot more space at Brighton on a weekend these days. See you there!!

It's windy!!! Just a reminder that today's Melbourne demo day is at Brighton Kitebeach, not St. Kilda as originally planned.

The wind should be in all day and tend more southerly as the day goes on.

See you there.

Hi JL & Keahi,

Thanks for your nice topics , yeap the water is choppy here compare to New Cal but I still have fun in my home town ,I was on the 6 SB2 most of the time ,for the speed crossing 10 cause the wind was a bit weak at the starting point but at the arrival I was a bit overpowered & hanging time I was on the 8, at 9.00am the wind start to blow so NICE !!! I know Keahi N Cal is your dream next time you have to come!!!! Hey guys I didn't forget about the tape I told you about at the waves comp , it's just that I've been busy and now I have to catch up all the school work
