Done. Tim, you should be really proud of yourself mate in these tough times.
I started kiting late last summer and one of the first things that struck me was the genuine attitudes of most kiters to one another. A truely heartbreaking accident and i really feel for his family, young bloke and everyone else involved but from what i've read, Marc reinforces what is so fantastic about kiting. Great people enjoying the water and wind and no matter what, always having each other's backs. 5 minutes reading the other thread and it's clear his "onshore" actions towards other people show the man he was.
SMS confirmation woke up my 4yo girl... While giving her a hug and getting her back to sleep I thought about a little boy without a dad and burst into tears -she said "it's alright daddy, you don't have to be scared".
In, I haven't been to WA or met the man but I'm a believer of 'do unto others', and by the sounds of it, I reckon he would have done the same for me. Best wishes to family & friends.
up to $2500 now guys , keep it coming . Just shows how awesome this commnunity is . Wind looks good for a sunday kite , lets hope the forecast stays as it is
Done. I didn't know him but was very sad to hear about this accident. My thoughts are with his family and the people that did their best on the day. I'm a windsurfer and I have to say I m very moved to see the support of the kite surfing community. Lucile
Like many others I didn't know Marc personally , but with 2 young children I'm constantly thinking about the consequences for young kids having to grow up without a dad. It's a very very sad thought, and I offer my sincere condolences to Marc's family.
Done. Spoke to Marc just a couple of times down at Cott. Last time was during the week at around 3pm when we had onshore wind. At that time no one was out. I rigged up my gear and he said to me that he will go down to Leighton as the Beach strip was too narrow at Cott and if i wanna come too. I said no and ended up going out at Cott and Marc did go down to Leighton on that day. RIP Marc
Great job Tim. RIP Marc. Our thoughts are with the family and friends. My partner and I spoke to Marc the day before while checking in at Cott with our dogs, he had just spent the last 6 hrs on the water and he could not stop smiling. That a how we will remember him. Great guy.
