dude if i had the $$ to wakeboard i wudnt own kites. or better yet if i had the $$ to live near cable i would RARELY kite. but sh!t $$ doesn't grow on trees so i just do the next best thing that my $$$ can offer

lol. ^^^
Charl,
It seems you don't really have any passion for the sport.
Kitesurfing I'm talking about.
Your heart's just not into it, hey ?
Your true desire is a shiny, new wakeboat and lots of cash.
Kiting to you is strictly consolatory.
(Why are you even bothering to write stuff on this forum ?)
(Why am I even bothering to read stuff written by a wannabee waker ?)
Your indifference clearly shows up how so unlike the two disciplines of kiting can be.
I'm talking about the flatwater bandits as opposed to the waveheads.
They're like two different sports.
What am I saying ?........They ARE different but there's a close resemblance.
Maybe Laurie was onto something with regards to splitting up the kiting forum into a couple of sections.
How about we have a WANNABEE WAKERS section ?

lol fair enough. i used to have passion for the sport... then it became winter

with the way most kiters ride its nothing like wakeboarding

Why do you want to impersonate another sport??? The way you talk up hardcore wakestyle all the time, I don't know why you just don't give up kiting and take up wakeboarding???

oh and read what i say. i say its not like wakeboarding, you say i say it is when i say its not? even though i do push for wakestyle side to grow.. you could call it dick style for all i give a sh!t id rather see riders pushing harder with their kites lower, even if they not doing mobe 10s or slim 5000s but rather have more risk, speed and power added in which inevitably makes it look and feel better and more rewarding as well as get kitesurfing an ounce of real recognition from other sports

Maybe you should forget about your image for a minute, you may enjoy what you and others are doing already. Why are you so intent on getting recognition, just go out and have fun mate.

couldnt care less about my image, and good on you for doing what ever your doing. just dont call it wakeboarding with a kite if your jumping and diong monkey bar swaps with ur kite at noon.

all i want to see is for the sport to gain more consequence in tricks. riding kite at lunch doing bar swaps has no consequence, you lose your bar and u float down. kite low = you have to ride A LOT faster and pop A LOT harder to get height = more riskn = good for the sport. i want the sport to get to a point where i can flick on fuel or wat ever and see good kiting for once thats up to date. for this to happen our sport needs recognition from other extreme sports, for that to happen it must look impressive to them, for that to happen the stacks have to look brutal, the tricks have to carry speed style and difficulty. its wicked that kiteboarding is so diverse n its cool to have different disciplines, BUT the mainstream stuff today is just lame.

anyway to describe kiteboarding:
Good day is like hanging your peepee infront of a vacuum cleaner
bad day is like dropping it on a belt sander

Does a bone graft, 11 screws and 2 plates in your foot count as a "consequence"?

I explain it to people as this: getting a swing and tieing it to your clothesline, sitting on it then get your mate to spin it arrouuunnddd and arroiuunnnndddd and arounnnnndd until your sick.

p.s.
"why don't you go wakeboard then if you love it so much!",
I will tell you why, because i cant drive a wakeboard boat and at the same time ride behind it in the waves launching off sweet kickers all day... thats why. Plus it's freeeeeeee.

Progress this. Legit that. Cred, dangle, lunch, powered, boots, beginner hooks, straps, kooks.....
I wonder if all the "legit and respected" hard core Gnarly (with a capital g) "sports" got to be legit because they had a crew of hard core wingers and winers posting bull**** on internet forums.
Here's a crazy idea. Maybe they just did what ever they felt like doing and the sport developed and progressed naturally, without anyone crying and sooking about how it was being done and how it should be done. Naaah, that would be ridiculous.
F.F.S. If ya wanna wake and don't have the craft hook up with someone that does, it's pretty easy to find a ride, then go and bitch and moan on some other forum.

people who winge about stuff are generally not too keen to wash a boat after a session either and usually take off with some excuse about having to be somewhere.

I got my "consequence" from a heavy landing with both feet in the straps. My point is that we don't have to bust ourselves up to gain credibility. Difficult tricks should look smooth and effortless. Some poeple have it, some will never have it.

No point unhooking then. might as well send your kite while your at it.

consequence = credibility
Its pretty much what all board sports are based on, that and style. besides the tech side of it.

You just don't hear the terms nomenclature and pedagogy often enough these days I reckon. Tops work Fatty. Hey that is two mentions in one thread - the IQ of SB has doubled!

Some class A humour on the forums this week. Surely all are joking and not actually that pent up?

Just in case..

Wakestyle looks crap anyway
Its generally pubescent boys with no brains that are into it cause their mums spent all the money on a Prado instead of a ski boat.

sorry i didnt realise swinging like a monkey havin a seizure under a parachute is way more core than riding behind a boat at way higher speeds with a way lower tow angle.

Higher speeds??? You may want to improve your technique, grow some balls and get a biiger kite or something, if you can't kite at the speed of a wakeboat, ha ha ha, Have you ever actually been wakeboarding or has mummy banned it??? ha ha ha

I take it you have never kited in waves before then??? The kite assists you to get towed into way bigger waves than you can paddle into, but I guess mummy wouldn't let you out in the big bad ocean, ha ha ha ha ha
