It's OK Junglist, I don't know you from the next guy... but it's comforting to know that I can still gauge a persons style from their opinions. I'm assuming, from the fire in your reply, that I hit close to the bone in my weak taunt.
It's alright though, I can make everything OK again,
you can borrow my rubber ducky... the other bloke has finished with it now. Lots of happy feel good vibes,

Meanwhile, back on topic:
Don't get me wrong, I'm not about cramping anyones style or fun, but the widespread media display of kiteboarding is driven by individuals and companies want/need to make money. Promotion on broad media of kiteboarding will not make the sport safer, it will encourage more wannabes to buy secondhand junk and go to your fave spot and kook it. Soon enough your fave spot will be crowded, someone will hurt themselves or someone else, and bans will ensue.
Sure, go ahead and video or photo the sport for media distribution amongst those that are already interested or participated, through sites like SeaBreeze and KiteFlix etc... but if it's plastered all over the place every idiot that says "wow, cool" and has $500 bucks, and a Trading Post, will be at your beach thinking he's cool.
Look at the animosity at places like Woodies, Scarbs, StKilda, Botany, etc already. Do you think it will get better when the carparks are full, and the beaches crowded with kiters, newbs, and wannabes?
Sure, let the money hungry SOB's make some cash out of us. But we'd be fools for wishing them well in these kind of efforts that will, undoubtedly IMHO, screw the pooch royally for the sport in general.
Rant over, it's all been said before, it'll be said again, and no-one will be the wiser until it's all over. (Yes, rant is definitely done now.)
