Great night last night, saw shans Fire Away 2. It was the most enjoyable kite flick yet. Even my wife who normally hates watching kite dvds thought it was great.
It was an excellent mixture of kiting and humorous footage revealing the extreme characters of Aussies finest kiteboarders. The editing and attention to detail in every shot was a credit to the skill and creativity of the director, Shannon Stent. It was great to see the whole community together, lets have more of these nights!

Fur Sure .. Shanners has a wicked talent for lining the vision up with the music - awesome. You can see a heap of effort has gone into it .. plenty of "from the water shots" and travel .. must have been a real chore haha!

i'm stoked... today i don't have the bloody music from the vid implanted in my head anymore!! yesterday i was sleeping, eating, working, driving, with that soundtrack still playing in my brain!! :)

wicked vid man... you've out done yourself! both vids are great, and it's cool to see that west oz kiting is progressing so well. there was even a few sick railies in there... hang on a tick, was that from west oz crew, or eastern states crew? :P giddy up

in seriousness tho, all the crew who appeared on the vid looked awesome, and it has been put together so well by shannon. even my old man who's similar to grumpy smurf thought it rocked! trust me, that's major status :)

cheers

Best Scene......?
For me it was that close out scene at the zoo, that i think was teamed up with a bumpin hill top hoods track, awesome.
Top flick.

well personally i didnt think this flick was the best thing scince sliced bread. sure it had some good stuff and wasn't a total waste of time but all kite flicks can get better.
some of it was way to jumpy and over edited, can't we just see some good kiting without trying to make lame stuff look impressive. Enough with the yellow effects.

I wanna know what the go is with including shots of people in these dvds without there knowledge???? People standing on the beach, not asking to be taped on video???? Wouldn't you have to ask for their permission???

Not sure if your talking about my film specifically or films in general but when filming in sometimes crowded public places there are always going to be people in the background that may get an involuntary run. However if someone asked not to be taped on video I wouldnt do it, except for glass eater.

So Missy, did you get some coverage?

Hey aids cheers for the feedback,
I agree all vids can get better and thats all I try to do. However I spent heaps of time on this project and am completely satisfied with the result and thats all that matters to me.
I'm not trying to be up there with The Tronolones or Leboe etc.. they are in a league of there own, Im just having a crack at something Ive always wanted to do.
Thanks for the feedback, I take it all into consideration when preparing for the next installment.

Glad to hear it wasnt a total waste of time.

Cheers

Holy crap my longest post ever, look out Darren!.
