Sorry but cracks on the rail of your epoxy board is bad news - especially near your front foot. The rail is one of, if not, the most fragile parts of your board - yet one of the most important structurally.

I had an underground surfboard a few years back that creased within 2 months of cracking one of the rails - propated directly from the initial crack. I had repaired the crack with arildite (which should only ever be temporary anway as the stuff will deterioate in the sun) - don't use solarez as it will eat the foam! Only if you are really desperate which, by the sounds of it, you are not.
If you repair it yourself - arildite it; glass will not remain on there (it will evetually chip away) and if any of resin gets inside the crack, you will damage foam.

If I were you, I'd get it done professionally so that, at the very least ,you can extend the time you have with the board. There was a bloke in Bibra Lake that did a great repair on a busted Future Fin box on my old Underground board - only $50. Ready the very next day.

Don't worry about the paint job unless you want to sell it down the track as you will no doubt get a few more dings in it through the winter and next season.
