so you mean the beach has a security check and because i am not registered i can not even come and see the action there .... no allowed to try the new equipment too ??? is kitestock a private event ?

How long did you have to get your tickets if you can not buy them in time then you don't have the right to bludge of the system that enables everyone to enjoy the awesome event. Next year buy your ticket and don't be dissapointed.

who the ****c said anything about taking part of any events, or competing at kitestock ??? my first question was about camping. is camping fee included in the price now ?
i just wanted to watch and try kites like at any normal event. I never thought that i should pay for that ...In events, you have the participants and the crowd no ?but obviously this sounds very much like selling entry tickets to the beach. Be happy, it is sold out anyway. if i cannot even try new kites, too bad then because i was looking to buy a new sets of kites. l guess i will do it in Europe then.

is that what you think of people who will only come to watch you performe those insane tacks ??? remember to check everybody at the beach and let them know not to blugde your special day too if they did not pay for it. i will kite in geraldton so, i wont blugde your wind ....

Demo-ing gear is strictly a commercial activity.
It's all about selling stuff.
Demo-ing gear is not club kiting, it's pimping.

yeah, that sounds BS to me too..... in fact, it is not a free demo at all then, you simply pay for it. well done, like commercials on pay tv.... i thought WA was a small market for kite, but it is getting even tighter with those rules now ..... private events, private demos, lucky for the rest of us, the wind doesn't only blows at kitestock that weekend.

anyway, i hope you will all enjoy your private party and wish that the wind wont let you down this time.

I think the reason only people at the event who have bought tickets can try demo gear is that there will be 300 kiters at the event already and if people who havn't paid can just turn up and try demo gear and go riding, then they have entered the event for free.

So if you don't make any exceptions then you don't stand risk of another 100 or so kiters trying to blag that they are there to try Demo gear, who havn't paid.

Not that I am saying that is what you were angling at.

From what I have read you are allowed to come and camp at any of the campsites or on beach if it permited. Watch the event and so on, you just can't ride.

If you wanna go that bad, I will give up my ticket for you.

This reminds me a bit of those big home-shows you can go to.
You know,
those events where hundreds of brands display and demo their home product all under the one roof.
A renovators dreamland.
You pay your money for the entry ticket, buy a hotdog and coke....
and discover once you're inside the building that most of the displays are about stupid fibreglass roof insulation.

thanks for your friendly proposition and letting me know that i am permitted to watch....but this is not what i am looking for.

airhead , expos usually do not cost $100 ++
iti, don't worry, i won't step on your expensive playground ....
but just to remind you that the price includes more than demoing kites if i am not wrong (bus, bf, lunch, dinner, party, ect.) which is not the reason why i want to come that day. enjoy anyway.

Friday: S'ly winds 15/20 knots increasing to 20/25 knots during the afternoon.

How good does the clear skies, SOUTHERLY wind running late and waxing gibbous moon look! I found that night kiting on a full moon was a bit less comfortable to the eastern tack as the moon was quite bright and low, but if it's already a bit higher in the sky when the sun sets...

Gawd damn marc-a. I tried my best to keep out of this. I guess I have failed.

A couple of things:
I just did a quick calculation. Even with the awesome array of new demo gear available at Kitestock 08 this is how it works out statistically. If just 20% of kitestockers are keen to demo just 10% of the well over 50 kites & boards on offer. AND; if we get a solid 6 hours of seabreeze all 3 days. THEN; every demo session would be approx 4.32 minutes.
I cant see how it can be fair to have a non participant reduce this session time even more. Can you

Kitestock is NOT a competition. It is a freeriding extravaganza where very few will be doing those "insane tacks"?. Most will just be cruising around, grinning from ear to ear, eating and drinking like royalty, looking forward to the party every night and racking up freeby's & prizes as they go.
But if thats not your scene ??? we all understand ??? (dont we ???)

And no its not a private party. Its a WAKSA party put on for & by WAKSA members with an open invitation to any kiters to come & join us. As of this minute I am pretty sure every cancellation listed request has been filled. The only ones missing out are those who havent asked.

And at the risk of being called a liar, personally this time, I can assure you and waveslave that the requirement for acceptable insurance to kite at the event is a pre-requisite for granting approvals from both the local council & state authorities.

Kitestock is about the vibe. Its about kiting. Its the getting together of like minded thrill seekers for a care free weekend of indulgence in passion. Its the vibe of the whole thing. Its the discovery of new toys and new friends and its the catching up with old ones. But mostly its just the vibe - yep thats it - its the vibe.
You either got it or you dont - sounds like you dont. Sorry bout that! but thats your choice.

But enough of this rebuttal - its time to party. Im outta here for an early kick-off.
