Imagine sitting and watching 50-70 kites over a 3km stretch of paradise, and for hours. Man did I have a ball, Sat. goes down as one of the best days in my life at least.

Ok, photos have been added curtesy of my other half...who does not kite. If it had been me, there would just been kites and other people we don't really know.....photos of just beauty, no show, no sell....mother nature.

Thanks to WAKSA and Gavin for this one........a great memory with staying power....see y'all next year.

I took some pics when out with Dean on the jetski. The glare made it impossible to see the viewfinder so I'm pretty sure they won't make KBM. I think the camera was Gavins.
Memorable shots include Jan jumping over us on the jetski, comeback kid GLS's first air, and Dale carving - on a boogey (spelling? looks funny) board!
Humour.
BTW thanks everyone - had a ball

Good to hear, good to hear....
It was pretty amazing and all the photo's will be sourced through WAKSA and probably the kitestock website.

I was stoked with the complete lack of attitude shown by all, everyone was relaxed and just there to have fun!.

Yep,

Many thanks to Gav, Deano, GLS, Alex, and all the other volounteers for making it a great fun weekend.

Although we weren't kiting, it sure looked like fun on the water. Good stuff!

Looking forward to next year

The winds where pretty avererage in Perth over the weekend.

I would be interested to know what time did the wind came in and to what strength did it reach on the sat + sun at Point Gregory ?

Sounds like a good time had by all.

airhead, I made it to work also....at 5am, but left a early and didn't kite on way home. Most crew still unpacking I bet, sand from kites and tents and cars and cloths and...

Nice that you didn't have to clean any kites. It was so clever of you to ride demos all day. I just spent the last 3 hours doing gear maintenance. That's why you are the #3.

unpacking. hmm knew I forgot to do something. Got home and slept for like 14hrs.

atleast all the kites (7) and boards (4) are ready to have a session. That is of course if I can find them under the tents, sleeping bags, mattresses, eskys, water bottles and assorted other crap. (all in a 1.6 honda civic ).

anyone got the scoop on port denison/dongara ? Rolled through on the way home, looked like an awesome place to kite with the campsite right at the surf beach. Is there something wrong with the wind direction, few locals we asked said they rarely see kiters there. The river mouth looked like it would be mad for some wakeskate lagoon action (water looked rancid though).

talk to andy @ sos for some info on dongara

ive kited north of the river mouth and had some good sessions, sloppy surf but always something to hit

i think theres a break near the corner of the marina, just watch the reef theres plenty of it, i think andy was saying the beaches south of the marina are pretty good

Yeah didn't use ANY of my kites the whole time. Should have just left them at home.

We stopped at Dongara around 2pm. The breeze was trying REAL hard to come in. Waited almost an hour but it was in then out, in then out again so we blew it off. But yeah looked pretty good.

I recken we'll have a fishing comp next year during one of the mornings. Biggest shark wins a prize.........

maybe hire a cray boat from Geraldton and do a fishing charter out deep....... hehe where the big fishies lurk.... [}:)]

After a fairly average session on friday, I had the best kite ever on the saturday (mind you when you've only been kiting for just over 2 months you often have the best session ever )

Though in that session I barely spend any time on my gear... Was great to try out some new stuff. Time to go shopping this weekend, pickup a shiny new board :)

It was just like a dream
Kitesurfing was the meaning of life
You looked at the ground and saw boards everywhere
You looked at the sky and saw fifty dancing kites
You looked at people and saw only kitesurfers and kitesurfettes

Kitestock was better than sex, drugs, alcohol and music mixed together!!!

Thanks WAKSA!

Thanks Anton and Gruezi for uploading the photos...and the other half for taking them!

Fred
