I've done a mental survey of kiting injuries, mostly local.
More breakages seem to happen on flat water rather than surf. Boosting and doing tricks seem to be the main culprits. Any comments?
Mine was in the surf... although, was doing a trick at the time. Simple front roll finishing with a downloop. Aiming to land on the back of an oncoming wave as a downramp but just before I hit backwash caused the wave to increase another couple of feet. I landed on the face of a wave which my momentum, combined with the waves momentum caused the impact. Speaks volumes of Carbrina Custom boards though, legs 0 board 1.
Cut, I am having a little trouble boosting now, however it has lead to a much more controlled and clean form of air. I wont do backrolls because my back foot if prone to land first, If I do then I will land switch or blind, and I wont pull it unless I am 110% certain there are no variables going to fxk it up.
Bones heal perfectly man. A lot of people break legs but dont 'break' legs so there are lot of different levels of broken i.e. a splinter to completely snapped. Joints aren't a good thing. Seeing your foot 90 degrees aint a good thing either (my foot was kicking my knee whenever a wave hit as I was swimming in

). Until they take the plate and pin out it will keep feeling a little pain like when you jump off a roof in barefooted with cold feet. I am starting to think I buggered my cartlidge in the process.
But you will really be amazed at how fast you heal, and how fast time goes!!! I cant believe it has already been a year!!!! Felt like yesterday that I was pressing that morphine button every 5 seconds hoping that timer had been switched off

But right now, read a book, learn a new language, master a new skill, whatever... dont waste it watching tv and feeling down.
