I admit I was influenced by colour when I purchased my very first kite at the time they only had yellow or blue both second hand yellow $100 more ( probably based on condition ) I figured if I was going to possibly end up lost at sea I was better off floating on the Big Yellow Banana ( as it was lovingly nicknamed ) than a Sea blue coloured kite. Easier for the helicopter to spot me I thought

A sucker ? Maybe !

But to this day I steer clear of the Blue ( although I have heard the UV issue etc... before from several yachties )

I personally think there is not enough style in this sport. Style is actually all matters in the end. If you do what you do with style you create art. Im all for eclectic kite styles, remember diversity breeds interest. How sick would it be pulling something massive, and as you land you look up at your kite and there is ****ing dragon or evil beast staring right back at you.

Im all for kite porn and personalization, kite porn haters take your boredom elsewhere and stay hooked in.

By the way im all claim and no game my kite is a black fuel, too scared to touch it with a spray can. Im still poor and need to resell.

Oh yeah, I remember you. You're the guy who always comes up, no matter the topic, with very constructive and intelligent comments... I can't remember the last time I've had the need to call people names just because I didn't agree with them...
Whatever...
This forum is a place where people can share opinions... And having read a few of yours in the past weeks, I do agree with you: we sure do come from parallel universes!
You're too cool for me, I can't handle...

Dont worry em, The guy is obviously a complete Twit all he does is bag people with almost every comment.
I recently accused him of never having anthing constructive to say he later replies with links to several comments which he deemed to be " constructive "
I enjoyed his reply however as it ment he had to spend time trawling through his previous comments to find the so called constructive ones.

So in effect I have wasted his time

Its not how good you are its how good you look.

I try to match the new kite as well as I can to the colours of my old kite so that my missus doesn't suspect anything, thus avoiding the questions; Whats wrong with your old kite, and how come you need a new kite etc etc etc.

the more i think about it, the more nostalgic i feel about the colours of kites

i remember a mate of mine saying that he found the colour of my prism quantum funny...

he said it reminded him of the 80's, when stunt kites started to show up they were made with fashionable colours.. and then as time moved on the companies just used the same materials.

The kite colour should match your performance level...

Mine are **** brown. Oh dear.

On a serious note, what do the sponsered riders use to customise there kites - like Lentens Red Bull logo?? Are these painted or stickers? That could open a up a whole world of customisation..

I found out that I had spent a decent wad of cash on a fluoro orange monstrosity when it was pulled out of its bag the day it arrived, however, now i am proud to be the owner of the orange beast, and i coordinate this with red pfd, blue wetty, green camo harness, blue helmet, orangeish/white/black board, yeah, the rainbow effect i think i'll call it.

Who cares if your having fun. I don't

Next time, I'm gunna have to remember to have my cap on backwards - and on a little angle ya' know to be fooly sick.
Then I have to remember my boardies, but to have size XXXL so that way you can see more of my boxers than the shorts, I think possibly a little bit of 'Bling' may be in order too.. where do I find one of those big-ass pimpin gold clocks I can wear around my neck? - Oh and don't forget on the fully sick kite colour, something like Orange, red, green, pink and yella.

Sick.

OR, then there's:
Not really caring about what's going on with the fashion and have an awesome session?

Not really caring about what's going on with the fashion BUT wear/fly/ride something that you think looks nice AND and have an awesome session?

I really can't see why some people are having problems with others wanting to look good? What is this, avarage country? You prefer it if everyone looks the same? **** that..

Its done with pre-cut stickers made of kiting material. I remember Toby from Kiteforum had some done for his kites by a German company. Not a bad option for those looking to advertise on their kites I guess.

I know you can also get logos made on kites, so maybe len10's are done specially for him.

You have a really good point there, but JB will argue that shorts are ok, as long as you don't want to select the colour

I think you will find that JB is VERY particular about his boardshorts !

Also ,I will never understand why people spend 200 bucks a year to have personalised number plates ! I mean.WTF ! What does it gain them ? They must think it looks cool.Takes all kinds ,I suppose.

good work jb and steve, how about you just put up a sign out side your shops saying "buy a kite and shut up" pretty much the same as calling your customers metos and telling them to get what there given.

btw, i care what colour a kite is and would guess most others would to

*i didnt bother reading all the dribble b4 this properly so this might be wrong

Yeah right.
lol.

Fingered with some lame coloured kites, are we ?
hahah
Kitebags stuck on the shelves collecting dust.
Can't move the brown models hmmm ?

Drop the price a bit.
That usually works.
Money talks and the colours seem to fade away.
It's magic.

There's no problem with looking good Dave. If you spent as much time and thought on your reply's as you do with your looking good, "now that would be good"

I agree that there are a lot of metro's that kite, but then again there are more and more metro's in all aspects of life these days.... harden the f%$k up!

But.... some colours just make me feel ill when I look at them. Colours do have an effect on some peoples brains when they look at them. Personally, pale yellow makes me feel like vomitting, burnt orange makes me feel like having a crap and fluoro pink makes me feel like ripping my own head off. If you then combine any of those colours next to each other I am in a whole world of pain.

Goota go see my doctor now.

How about a vomit coloured kite ??? With hidden porn like a colour blindness test ???? The cabrihna road pizza, the naish ralph, or the slingy up'n'under ???? My missuss never spends more than 2 seconds looking at my kites so she wouldn't see the porn. With a flying advertisment for carrots we could get sponsored by the heart foundation........SICK (literally) !!!!!!!
