I love forums! The best thing I love is that everyones understanding of what they read is in the way they read it! If you read it from an angry angle, eveything looks really negitive and spiteful, but if you read it from a funny, or happy angle, you actually laugh the whole way through it! But if your like me and dislexic and illiterate, you just have trouble working out what the funk people are saying!! It's great to see people so defensive about their opinions, even to the point were they start personal attacks to try and prove their point, no wonder the world always goes to war every time countries don't agree! I think there should be a world forum, were all the world leaders can go on and slam each others countries and opinions!
Anyway, just because I always read the forums with a smile, I thought I reply and bring this one back to the top!

See you at Port if your going, I'll be on the Burgandy and fluro Pink Boxer!

Regards,

JB

In your customised van?

With your customised number plates?

How much a year does it cost you for those plates?
Is it an ego thng ?

Surely its personal preference though? If a person wants to spend a fortune of their money on personalised plates, its their perogative given the fact that its their money?

Same as kites, if a person wants to colour code their kite to their tattoo of Beatrice Arthur they have on their @ss, then its up to them, after all, its their own money they are spending.

People have colour coded cars without question for many years.

Let the people be, and as long as their choice in kite/car/dog colours has no impact on me directly then I am quite happy. Its not long they are blowing smoke in your face or forcing you to watch the english play test cricket or anything.

im colour coordinated but it was not deliberate!
I picked up my first board and harness 2 summers ago (naish thorn and prolimit) both red black and white....

this season I was 'assigned' a 12m hyper type in white (black and red) so all my gear is white black and red ...also sold my first kite a 9m boxer in white black and red(oh my 9m hyper is hot orange so I use my orange beach towel to coordinate this.)

Now I am thinking of a very strange man (I am cringing dont worry) at my gym who wears orange shorts and matching orange socks and then dances up and down as if he were shadow boxing - but doesnt punch...very disturbing...

User,

Are you talking to me? If so, my van was bought stock standard, i did all the fitting out myself, and the plates I have had for 5 or 6 years now, and don't cost anything each year( I think there was a initial payment of like $40 or $50 or something, but nothing since!). Why?

I think you are getting a bit carried away here on what I was trying to say. I just think it's a bit bizzar that some riders would change models or make of kite if the colour wasn't right. It seems that there is a lot more enfosis (I know I spelt that one wrong) on colour these days as opposed to previous years.

Just to set the record straight, I have nothing against a person wanting to choose from available colours, or even having a colour preferance, if you have the choice then thats great. I am just supprized at how important it has become! And I am sorry if anyone has been affended by me using the term metrosexual, it not actually a bad term, many men these days like to think of themselves as metrosexuals! It's like being a SNAG!

Enjoy,

JB

Are YOU talking to ME? (In best De Niro accent)

No,I was not talking to you,I was talking ABOUT you !

Well I am not a SNAG!(sensitive New Age Guy)

More a,Caring Understanding Nineties Type !

Some people are fussy about their numberplates and wheels, others are fussy about their kites.

Some people like face jewelry, others could care less about that sh1t !

Anyway,I find it hard to believe that anyone would change brands because of the color !
Also, the kite colors are a fashion statement in some brands. So,some people will actually swing toards your "ugly" kites !

The truth is, ALL kites are beautifull!

No matter the color,justlike people!

I particulaly like the interview with Don Montague, the Naish designer, who says that the first time he saw one of Brunos inflatable kites,he thought " It was the most beautifull thing I had ever seen "

Just about sums it up !
