however it was no surprise to me and some mates from the pelican point!
its a pitty! thats the way the kiter get banned from every single spot!

Hi All,
I know the fellow as well, he came into Airborne to get a board. He is out from Holland visiting his Dad for 6-8 weeks, has been here about 2 or 3 weeks so far. I agree with others he is totally dangerous at Pelican Point! It gets even worse, he claims to be an instructor at home!

Yup,

I'll confirm the Dutch fool. I've pulled him aside on the river as well, Re: his impending disfigurement on tree. I even used a few graphic descriptions, no need to post em here.

LOL, an instructor! Training future suicide bombers?

Enough of silly people, guess what? I WON A $ 5k plasma screen and sony surround sound last night....WOOT

Yani and I was at the very point of pelis that day and saw this foolyak from the distance. The wind was so bad that day, I really don't know what he was thinking. But I sure can't wait to see him out next time at pelis

I spoke to his Dad today, reckons he's leaving to go home on Monday. According to their initial story this means he's leaving early... If WAKSA would like the phone number of the father it's at Airborne. I have left messages with Dean G and SOS (Johnny G) regards the phone number.
At least he wasn't attached to it when it hit the bridge.

Jags .."the thing that shi$ts me the most is that i think this kid is a tourist so once he has wreaked the kiting for the rest of us he can move on "

This is the very thing that may make the authorities act..... if the WAKSA and peer pressure have no influence then...

This dickhead came within a whisker of cleaning me up at Peli. I think his freeway incident should result in a fine at least.

if he comes back, someone knife his LE!

i know all to well about "one dickhead in the group" drama's and then media attention. I drive a modified import and we all get branded as hoons and irrisponsible drivers, etc etc, and its really only about 0.00000001% of us who are stupid and misbehave.

the kiter in question should be tought a lesson, i know its bad to say it, but he might be one of those ppl who doesnt listen to what anyone says, just goes "yea yea" and walks off, 5 minutes later back to his old, dangerous tricks.

there's always a few idiots in the group, it cant be avoided, so we gotta persuade them to leave the sport, or change their way of thinkin.

Easy guys! Whats with all the hate mail... Don't you think this geeza feels **** enough without a thousand anonymous perfect kiters after his blood?

So he stuffed up, it does happen, we've all got our horror stories, learn from it and move on i reckon.

stuffed up?!?!

hes endangered OUR privilege of kiting on the river

all because he was STUPID... did not assess the risk of direct onshore conditions, frontal gusty conditions, 6 lane freeway 50m from the area, lack of leash/effective safety equipment... and to boot he claims that this is normal acceptable behaviour... and he's supposedly an instructor

i dont have any horror stories that ended up stopping traffic!

I saw the guy soo, just to add to the stats of who saw the incident.

I was just talking about kiting to a couple of interested people, on the topic of safety, and saw that guy and said,

he is preety much doing everything wrong,

definately the wrong place to do the wrong thing,

kite onshore winds somewhere where all of perth cant see you - mate, and then it really is a victimless abuse of the rules, with no consequences but your own

IMagine the news headlines if there had been a pile up

Kiter causes 8 car pile up and backs south going traffic for 3 hours on peak hour Friday.

Nice one

Hey getfunky i know your upset snd have every right to be, but as for All Takoon riders being "selfish p***k" that sterotypical.
Just cause a guy crashes his Airrush kite and nearly takes out a kid, doesn't mean all Airrush users are Dangerous.(Happened at Kalbarri a couple of weeks ago)
I have just brought a new Takoon and was riding it the other day when my mate was approched and told i was the guy down the narrows!, i dont need crap like that. I always ride with my and others safty formost, i carn't talk for the other riders of Takoon that are the same colour as mine, i know of 4.
My point being that no mater what brand of gear you use, there are always pricks using the same gear doing the wrong thing. Takoon, Naish, Airrush whatever users shouldn't all be put in the same boat just because of this.

Do Takoon give away free labotomys with these????

I RISKED MY LIFE TO GET THAT KITE OFF THE FREEWAY

I was driving into southperth going north when I spotted the kite. I pulled into the southperth exit into the emergency lane got out and walked back up to where the kite was. I couldnt see anyone around so I was thinking "**** yeah, some idiot has crashed his kite on the freeway and done a runner! FREE KITE!!!!" Then the foreign kid walked up to me from the other side of the fence, he was clutching his shoulder. I asked if it was his kite and he said yeah, I asked if he was alright, if he needed to get to the hospital. He said he hurt his shoulder but he was alright. At this point I turned to face the traffic but it was flowing north way too fast to cross on this side. The kite started to move so I jumped into my car and drove around to the other side of the freeway cause it was nicely backed up enough for me to get across but I still had to stop traffic to get to the bus lane. In the time it had taken to get to the other side of narrows and walk up to where the kite was a bus driver had stopped and put a heavy road sign on the kite. Thankfully no buses came through as I packed up the kite and again stopped traffic to get back to safety.

Thankyou to all the ****ers who screamed abuse at me as they drove past, you guys are ****en heros when you're in a car safe in the middle of traffic.

The moment I got back to my car the guy's dad with the foreign kid in the car pulled up. I gave the kite back and rushed off as I was already running late before I spotted the kite. The father thanked me, neither of them could speak english very well, I didnt feel the need to humiliate the kid any more than he already was. Suffice to say if I see him flying there again, I will reclaim the kite I rescued.

Hey Guys, If anyone does know the kids name, I can check to see if he is IKO, I don't think he is, but I can easily find out and take the approprate steps.

I also saw him at Peli point whilst doing the girls clinic, he jumped about 6 feet from the beach, almost crashed the transition as he landed in inches of water and then 10 seconds later jumped again and did land on the beach. I think he was trying to impress the girls, but he made a dick of himself.

Let me know privately if I can help.

best winds,

When you rescued the kite, what did you do about the bar?
Weren't the vehicles messing with the lines and stuff?
More info required?

Great work FlyingWhiteBoy! Stuff those people yelling abuse, they had no clue how close they were to having their car attached to another car by 4x 250kg breaking strain spectra... which would have made an interesting accident.

Bit off topic, but hey, getfunky 'your special Takoon girl' (alleged to be Tuva Jansen?) actually grabbed my kite for landing twice now, when I was finishing up at Pinnaroo. She even secured it by scooping some sand on it. She actually seems very helpful.

Funny - the people that direct mailed me away from the thread didn't seem to think so, the terms used were reckless, b**ch, selfish (and on and on).
Does having a hot bod and securing a kite automatically qualify for a medal? If so with a chest wax maybe I am in the running as I land kites whenever I can be helpful
Hey top effrt FWB. Coping some ignorant abuse for the rest of us stopped a really bad PR situation fron potentially being worse and maybe a HEADLINE:
"Selfish stupid p***k kitesurfer decapitates 3 people in BMW convertable and lifts Transperth ECO bus into river drowning another 3 prawners"
Funny no-one noticed your nice dry clothing to be a little out of place for a kitesurfer? That's joe public though have a go and think it through later!

Yeah I was wearing a black and red Ben Sherman jacket, blue jeans and a oakley shoes. Isnt that what you guys kitesurf in?

The lines and bar were swept aside, into a construction lane, I dont know how the kite ended up where it was but that guy is really lucky that he didnt cause a major crash.

Its a damn good thing that the bus lane conrete walls were high enough to block the wind from blowing the kite onto the other side of the freeway!

Nice work FlyingWhiteBoy.
I've been trying to contact the authorities as I had understood that the police may have attended. If it is convenient for you, could you please give me a call tomorrow (Wed). There's a WAKSA committee meeting tomorrow evening and we'll certainly be tabling this incident.
Thanks
