Laurie, can we have a new menu heading called "Soapbox", so that all the judgemental, sanctimonious, fun policeing, committee orientated people wishing to impose their ranting and raving on if you should kite with a kid, wanting to report night kiters, rules for this and rules for that, can impress the hell out of each other on their own special place. And those of us who are interested in kiting don't have to troll through all the BS when we log on to see if anyone has actually posted something interesting. The idiots who want to expose the wrong doings at Mambo with the promise of more to come or anyone else with nothing positive to say could use this new menu "Special Place" as well. In fact anyone who just wants to put schit an anyone else because thats the way they are wired, can use this menu heading.I think Seabreeze used to be good....... its quickly turning to crap. As soon as a thread turns to personal attack or negitivity rules it could be transfered into "soap box oblivion"......

I agree. I'm sick of all the cyber bullying abuse too. I'd like to see a few notorioties moved off my posts (as originator) if all they're going to do is slag off at my comments with accusations and inuedo.

Why not give the thread originator permisson to delete from that thread ?. That'll really clean the place up. Then everyone can have their own thread and moderate all the relpies. If you want to abuse someone, you'll have to do it in your own thread. Less need to moderate everything.

Hey Sandy,

I have copped a fair bit in the past too. I am not afraid to offer an opinion astray from the sheep either. Really though, other than a few (usually silent) folks who may agree with you, all you are doing is aggravating yourself and giving spotty little plonkers with no real life of their own (who love to get personal rather than discuss the issue) a pathetic, vicious outlet.[}:)]

Ultimately - your well meaning attempts to get others to see your view is just fuelling bad forum behaviour.

Give yourself a rest mate and the children will find their inch high private eyes again to amuse themselves. By all means throw your ideas out there, but then let it all float away in a bubble after that. Or possibly have a scoob/beer/shag - preferably all three - and keep on truckin mate.

I guess the objectives are

1. Don't take anything too seriously
2. Don't take yourself too seriously
3. Don't take anything to heart or personally
4. If someone wants the last word let them, after all its the Interwebz, it aint real and it aint important
5.Gently swig a luke warm cup of HTFU when it all gts too much

Follow those simple guidelines and i am sure your sleep pattern will return.

Groper I doubt that you're really that stupid..

This post is really about you..

Your not welcome..

I still can't work out if your a troll lookin for a laugh or if you are a law student trying to be cool by flying a kite with all the gear and packin it in cause the wind is wrong..

Whatever the your agenda is, in the 7 years I've been kiting, you don't fit the profile!!

And I'll bet 100:1 you wouldn't rock up at any Kiting beach and say "hey my name is xyz, and on seabreeze I'm known as SandGroper"

If ya can't go out in public and back up what ya say on the net.... Then don't say it..

Rusty says:
"I think Seabreeze used to be good....... its quickly turning to crap"

Seabreeze sounds so much like CB's.

I remember back some 30 years ago, when I was in my late 70's, and when the 11m band CB radio was all the go. Had some really good QSO's and made some good friends - some I still know today.

What ruined it was the ppl who abused the technology. An inevetiable consequence of its popularity. But 5 years later the novelty wore off and the airwaves went quite again. Its been fantastic ever since. I still have my old Johnstone 27MH sitting in my car, and crank it up now and again. There's some real nice people out there. And I can just see myself 5 years from now posting to Seabreeze about how much better it has been since the novelty and popularity of kitesurfing wore off and all the hotheads found something better to do.....

The only thing I take seriously is what I actually see at the waters edge. For all i know, 90% of people on here could just be over-opinionated poser kooks.
Until i've actually seen that they know whats going on by proving it at the beach I couldn't care what people say.

Hmmm.. conservative estimate?

The remaining percentage are pervies that have mistakenly been directed here looking for 'Sweet Cheese'.

Look - we all love the sound of our own typing or we wouldn't have contributed to this thread at all now would we? Anyone that points the finger otherwise is a class A hypocrite.

I reckon that we're just experiencing a "flare up" because there are a couple of polarizing topics .. tandem kiting & night kiting. This time will pass.

It's windy as heck here in WA and you'll at least find the WA crew more relaxed .. green arrrows every afternoon as far as the eye can see....

That's a pretty sound policy. When this forum started, it had 7 terms & conditions if you wanted to play:

1. Be good to others.
2. Keep it fun.
3. Keep it clean - no swearing, harrasement etc.
4. Keep it fun.
5. Keep it legal!
6. Keep it fun.
7. No Advertising.

It's now 5 pages long (www.seabreeze.com.au/Members/Help/ForumRules.aspx)

Do you reckon we would have enough inflamed topics to fill the new category?

Given enough viewpoints, I'm open to suggestion...

Two birds with one stone Laurie:

get rid of contoversial thumbs on each post and have one big set of red and green thumbs at the top of each thread.

If the entire thread gets red thumbed by the users, it gets canned and sent to the soap-box, sin bin, exploding heads section.
