Cheers for the feedback guys.
Much helpful

You've given me a good direction to start from.
I want to kite in all kiteable conditions eventually, but one kite to start with, then expand my quiver from there as I gain a bit of experience & insight into what I like.

Thanks, makes sense.
It's a bit hard trying to figure out the best size to get being that I'm 93kg, will be getting a twin tip.
From your figures, I'm guessing I'd need a 10 minimum, maybe an 11?

I'd go a 10. I'm 100Kgs and I fly a 12m mainly (it is pretty wind hungry though, due to the fact that it's a 7 strut kite and a hybrid at the C end of the spectrum. I'm good on that from about 16 knots to 30 (I wouldn't suggest 30 for someone starting out though obviously). I use 2 boards too, this enables you to have a bit more range with one kite. I use a 142 and a 128 (both Undergrounds).

Hope this helps,

D

I could have sworn this was going to become an argument on the hydra's wind range

Yeah agreed, Im still waiting, apparently they are good from 10 to 50 knot's or sumpin!!?

One kite quiver?.........is not enough if your keen, IMO for the West start with a 10 or 11 and add a 7 when you can
