Better still get someone to film your first attempts then post it in the free sunnies post that's floating around!

A Dark slide on a 18m dyno in chop, for the first time, gotta see that...

but of course be careful

... ahhh bugger, just remembered, my sons going on a kite trip to a sandbar 15NM off shore so I am giving him all my camera gear to take, so I might not get to film my first attempts to Dark Slide! Oh well, if my memory is up to it, I'll try to recant to the best of my knowledge my success/failures

Need to find a happy medium where your kite passes over your head and keeps you just above the water. Doesn't mater how fast the kite is just need to find that sweet spot. You will
Know when you get it. I would worry about the loop until you start getting the slide. Good luck
Is my favorite trick. Looks good with a backroll out of it with the loop!

I can do it. It's a great trick and feels awesome when you get a good slide! Just practice the slide than when you start getting that try the loop out of it. Practice the loop in lighter winds first lol. Good luck

Have seen u doing it Mitch, you make it look easy as
I'm thinking I'll try it when I kite next (which should be in next few days D.O.W in Essaouira)

it's called a darkslide, and no, I can't do it. Looks cool though.

You can't really be angry at him. Lets be honest here kiters obviously took this name from the skating trick, and it makes little to no sense in regards to the kiting trick anyway... The only reason its called a "darkslide" in skating is because you are sliding along the rail on your griptape, which happens to be the black or "dark" side of your board... This isn't the case in kiting.

no anger or malice in my post, in fact I love this kids enthusiasm. Just making a slight correction so everyone knows what he is talking about.

What about this variation of the kiteloop/transition, instead of a slide you can do the jesus walk :

What's a dark slide anyhow?

A fancy transition, never tried one but it's on the list to have a crack one day.

Damn those Danes, their relaxed commentary - "And then Eric the Bloodred sailed with his three young blonde wives to Vineland in AD 843" - and interior designer-cool soundtracks. Learning this trick is a reason just to spend three days in Augusta in November ...
