now i haven't flown a crossbow b4, you guys seem to know more about me than i do. I am taking the same approach as hung long, they look like good kites for some people, i have nothing against them, but for the time being im gonna stick to my C's until they fix up a couple of flaws and perfect the design. I haven't even bow bashed, its called a discussion, it was started by a bow flyer so if you can't hack it don't read it.

It's just peoples opinions geez......... Peopleare almost as defensive about Bows than windsurfers are about their water.

Bows are the 'longboard' of kiteSURFING.

That can be good!
(If you're a cruiser).

Tried a bow (switchblade) the other day and i must say;

different to fly,

great in the waves,

a little different timing to jump, but after a while.. i like it great hang time out of a 9M in 25Kts.

love the depower range;

and how the hell do you stop the kite from fully depowering when you spin the bar to undo your lines?

All that being said, i'm sitting on the fence until the manufactures tweek for next year...

Don't bag um unless you've tried em.

i have flown a few bows. crossbow and turbo diesel. persdonally i prefer my fuels and not getting bow style kites this season. but heres a question alot of bow users claim that with bow kites you only need 1 kite that covers all your wind range. and then everyone i know that owns 1 and people that are commenting on this topic say they brought 1 and if they liked it know have 7,9,12, 16 or something like that or they still have their other kites and still use them whether its smaller or bigger kite than the bow the got. so if bows are also more expensive and you cant just have 1 then its not cheaper coz 1 bow doesnt cover 3 kites. or even 2 for that mater. sure they have massive depower but when depowered they fly like cr@p. if you into them thats cool but its actually costs the same or could work out more expensive for that quiver of bows as aposed to c shaped kites.

Yeah your right, but there is a huge range, much more than c's.
but as you say, they fly crap when totally depowered,
i reckon for perth a 9 and 12 would pretty much do you in all conditions.
or if your lurch, 9 and 7.

Well the first inflatos were in the shape of a "gore"
according to Bruno Legagnoux,the inventor.

So they should be called "gore kites" !

Interesting read here about the history of kites.

http://www.ikiteboarding.com/kiteboarding/articles/kiteboarding-history-by-bruno-legaignoux.aspx

Notable is that the first inflatable kites were made by Neil Pryde.

Now they lead the way again with Crossbow.
