I have no doubt that hole does not effect the kites performance one bit. Still makes no sense you can still pump it up the conventional way so really there is no need to design a hle in the canopy.
I would rather pump my kite up the old way than thread my pump through a hole in my kite every time (wonder how that will stand up to wear and tear). Once it's in the air who gives a cr!p how it's pumped up, u just want to minimise holes.
