BROWN NOSER ... i did my course so i could put in my 2 cents worth of say

IKO are listening to our ideas and updating their material accordingly. I read in one post earlier about unhooked launching. May I ask when did you do your IKO because I think if you keep your knowledge current you will find that IKO now include all forms of launching dependent on the gear used. They are up to date with the changes in gear and cover old and new kite setups, and they teach us about all setups.
I have done my IKO instructor level one, I was very happy with the material and professionalism of the staff.
What I would like to suggest to IKO if you are reading my post is that you take a look at the AQTF guidelines set by the Australian government and have a look at the currency and fairness rules.
I dont know so much if it is the IKO that are out to grab cash or those that abuse the certification.
In Vocational Education in Australia you are only issued a contract for around 2 years, each 2 years you need to renew the contract by proving the status of your employees, are they certified, is their knowledge current and is it fair? Start auditing and you will find a lot of cash grabbers abusing the IKO certification. But when I say fair, I mean a panel audit, a team of professionals. Start spending some of those dollars you are apparently 'grabbing' from instructors (I do believe they had a choice and what they chose was to learn the universal way) and regulate your certification.
And he who posted that it is rocket science obviously took rocket science at kindergarten, I want to thank YOU for all those people you put on the water who don't know the right of way, who don't watch out for turbulent areas, who land their kites in the trees, who do not check weather conditions before they leave, who can not read the clouds for potential danger and who launch in the power zone near other kiters, well done I am sure the world would be a better place if you were a rocket scientist.
In the end, we all want the same thing right? Safety and the freedom to kite at our beaches.
Passionate and proud to wear IKO.
