I have seen this topic somewhere before, oh yeah, here it is: www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=28484&whichpage=2&replies=50&PageSize=30&mxPages=2

It would also be good if you disclosed that you are suffering from multiple personality disorder. You are also rockstar.

windsurfing and kiting are NOTHING compared to typing spurious s*it on a forum.

Instant infamity is easily achieved by pretending you are 12. Hey at least it got a reaction. "Wow".

CAPTAIN BRIDGE POLE. when was the last time you wanted to kite under a bridge and thought... "oh darn, wish i had a gymp-pole-board so i could fit under here". Yeah, that happens to me all the time.
could you possibly be stirring the proverbial pot?

bmac:

C'mon, be fair to the poor bloke, he started a thread here:
www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=28484

and got torn a new ring by the poleys, so to redress the balance he tried it with the kiters.

Pretty even-handed reaction you've got to admit, both sides didn't approve of the trolling

hey Carl

I think your a hypocrite for saying that rubbish, as you obviously do the same thing.
This kind of statement tears the two sports apart and makes kiter's out to be arrogant. This is a shame because all the people know who kite are great people.

if u like windsurfing then do it, if u love kitesurfing then do it. i will say that there is something awesome about being hooked up to a over sized kids toy and flying over the ocean though!

yeah well the sports wouldnt be torn apart if people didnt come on to a kite forum sayin that windsurfing is better and vice versa, as long as we dont try and rip eachother on forums we will be alright even though i add to the arguements i do admit thers nothing wrong with windsurfers as long as they share the politeness of giving way and not going on about how much better their sport is.. its all about personal preference, just like riding style

you dont have to spend time explaining what it is you do with your free time and you dont have to talk to heaps of impressed on watchers who ask questions like where can i learn and that looks like the best (expletive) sport in the whole (expletive) world, do you have to be as strong and fit and skillful and balanced and have a good hair cut. (easily answered by no, theres this guy we call poor relative, who we all love for his wacky one off sense of humor)

yes i can see a benefit for some people-not for me though

no one seems to have come up with a 2nd reason yet. mmmm
2. your girfriend can dance on the mast when there's no wind
after all why would you want to use it if there was wind anyway?

Windsurfing masts make great flagpoles for the garden so you can tell when it's time to go kiting.

i definitely prefer windsurfers... you can steal their wave really easily when they are taking 5 to get up to speed

jks, only stolen one wave and i had thought the guy had missed it. i could have gone up wind and let him have it but i think like 99% of other water users they think we have minimal control

Hey Captain Crunch,
I've done both.
Polesurfing and kiting, that is.
They are both gay and generally suck in waves.

Surfing is the coolest sport in the World.
It is.

Windsurfing demands more skill and they don’t wear shorts over their wetsuits! Seriously I recon you can spot the people who converted from windsurfing to kiting. Kiting is techno and windsurfing has the soul factor. Some of the top kiters are now going back to windsurfing! Robby Naish! Anyone can kitesurf but that’s not true for windsurfing – give it respect. Kiting does rule in the lighter winds.

I love both sports

Enough said.

Windsurfing needs pure conditions to be worthwhile - kiting can give you fun in a mossies fart on a waterhole. Which is why kiting has become so popular! But windsurfing still delivers if you know how to...

It's good fun ya!
