Who agrees??

Kiting has much less gear, it is more compact to carry, you can plane in almost no wind when windsufers are sinking.

It's a no brainer, Is'nt it????

Shed some light for me guys....

Yeh, but the modern kite designs with high depower are starting to make high wind kiting safer and easier. And they have only been around for a couple of years I think, so they should only get better.
Nothing against Poleys though, but I think we will start to see more kites out in 25 - 30 knots plus.

I think that sizzling beef is better than sweet and sour pork...

Who agrees??

Sizzling beef has much less fat, it is more tastier, you can keep it warmer for longer when other dishes are getting cold.

It's a no brainer, Is'nt it????

so if it is cracking 25 to 30 you are not going to use a 12 are you
more gear need to put the 9 in the back and bring the 12 just in case
better not forget the small baord too
there are pros and cons for both i just do them all 3 and have fun
and meet some new people

So what's so hard about putting a board and rig on the roof?

What's a problem carrying a board? What sort of wimp gets worried about carrying a windsurfer? The old age pensioners who use sea kayaks have no probs with a 45kg kayak, why is a 6-21kg windsurfer a problem?

My 34kg 12 year old daughter can carry an original Windsurfer with no problems. Sure, she's a championship gymnast - but any adult male who gets scared carrying something a 34kg girl can carry should keep it quiet.

What about sailing in winds too light for kites? Tactical racing? Cruising? Freestyle? The fun of gliding through almost still calms across glassy water? All the many other joys of windsurfing? The feeling of a decent-sized board carving?

Oh, and not taking up a disproportionately large amount of beach and water like a dickhead. The sea is for everyone - we shouldn't take more than our share.

Interesting point that all kiter make.."we take less gear.. in a small pack.. blah, blah, blah" you sure do.. BUT you need 10-20 metres of beach to launch on.. Down at my local I launch on a 50 cm gap between the rocks... kinda evens out - don't you think?

OMG I never realised, what a fool I have been.......... 23 years of false joy I have experienced..... How do I give it all back.. My travels around the world windsurfing were but a fools paradise..... My smacking lips in Maui a neural cacophany of delusion........ My speedsailing adrenalin soaked spinalcord a figment of my puny imagination........ My enduring windsurfing friendships just shadows in the breeze...... My lifestyle a delirious ecstacy of myths and lies....... A daughter born of a windsurfing marriage ...... Oh if only you could have enlightened me earlier...... my life could have been so much.......ummm..........ummm........ impoverished?

That you are so insecure that you need to put someone else's passion down says much about your age and mental state, if you are young it is understandable and forgivable, and it gave me a chance to access my beautiful memories....... I thank you for that....... 23 years of joy!!!!!

As for Kiting........ Cool sport!!!!! No need to put it down for me to feel good about windsurfing....... windsurfing just is, you either get it, or you don't, no need to justify it, no need for conversions!!!!!

Enjoy your kiting...... You only create negativity in your own mind, which does you no good,....... you may delude yourself you are stirring up the pot, but you have just used up negative energy in your mind to create negative energy in your soul (It is not in the spirit of Kiting either, therefore you become a spiritual fraud)...... What do you think is happening to your neural pathways and neurotransmitters when you do this stuff.... You are basically poisoning your mind.....

.....Thanx also for giving me a chance to do a little bit of education about negative thinking (BTW if I have to spell it out forya "It's bad for human beings"),...... , you have helped make my day!!!!!

How many coffees have you had this morning dude ?
Maybe it was the speed with which I read your post... but in my head it sounded like someone redlining !

In my humble opinion, wearing your boardshorts over your wetty spells it all out, all too clearly in regards to Cpt Crunch

Man you guys are giving it to me !

I didn't mean to disrespect anyone. I was just putting out there a point of view that kiting has many positives qualities.

I thought the thread might encourage some polers in the direction of kiting as it does have good things going for it.

Chris 249, I am glad that I helped make your day, but I'm feelin some negativity. Dood watch that poison zen health thing of yours.
Only kidding that was one heck of a piece of writing, shame the soccer didn't really go so well though ha?

Captain, look at the title of your post; look at the post. It's obvious you started this thread trying to express your negative feelings about windsurfing.

If you want to express positive qualities about kiting, why didn't you do that instead of having a go at windsurfing? And I still can't see why so many windusrfers and so many kiters make such a big deal about the supposed problem of carrying boards.

Even saying "it's a no brainer" assumes that people who windsurf are stupid to do it. In fact,
even if (and it's a big "if") kiting back and forth in medium/strong winds and in surf was better than doing the same thing on a windsurfer, for some of us that's only a part of the sport. There are lots of things kites can't do that boards can.

The fact that you utterly ignored all those things and then slagged off those who like them, shows you weren't being positive.
