oh Black dog

What do you know about offencive behavior staring your reply with CptCrutch, WTF!
I don't really get the connection between Kneeboarding and poleboarding, If you practice enough you could truley combine standup surfing and kiting.
Here is some inspiration.
Thanks for your input anyway.

OUUULALA le petit monsieur me tire du francais maintenant: "touche" hahaha..
Anyway talking about progessive environment I was actually kiting in mauritius and we were a big bunch of guys/girls, into all these things u mentionned, the beauty of kiting was that we could get on reefs unnaccessible with windsurfs (shallow), and some of us were/are into unhooked tricks etc... awesome, but expensive as I said with gear to replace often and breaking and stuff...But when i have the money I may very well buy one.
I reckon windsurfing limits are far beyond the ones of kiting.. because it takes balls to throw yourself in a goiter with the chance of being washed in the wave with your fin not far from them.. Whereas an unhooked kiteloop could only leave you crashing on the water and having your kite fly away..
See what I mean? Have we please finally shed enough light here?

Shame windsurfing didnt work out 4 you, enjoy ur kiting

I think its funny that he has an avatar of a cyclist, and yet he seems to be the biggest backpeddler of all time.

Starts out saying how kiting sh1ts on windsurfing, then spends four pages trying to say he can understand how everyone else like their own thing.

Just do whatever takes your fancy, and make sure you enjoy it.

Timed it exactly wrong!!!!! I went out as everybody came in, wind and waves had dropped off. Half an hour after I came in wind kicked in!!

Managed to get a couple of half reasonable waves, but they were sloppy and unpredictable. Couldn't be bothered tacking up to 2nd break, that may have been better.

Thought of joining you when the wind came back, but it was getting late, I was tired and wetsuit wet and cold! So maybe tomorrow or Monday.

We had similar (without the waves) was up and down so stuck it out on the bigger board, got some good long runs but sore arms and legs from slogging.

Tomorrow looks interesting hope the breeze happens

Did you down load data from yesterday?
Hardy was trying to make me feel better for my flat battery incident last weekend by forgetting to turn his GPS on,

I had a ball in the bay last night, gotta learn how to do them right handed jumps though

Yep, but I still haven't got the RealSpeed key. Think Hardy reminded me to turn mine on before I went out, or was that you?

I was quite pleased with one jump I got, wasn't big but I almost felt in control, think unhooking helped.

If they're right about westerlies tomorrow, think I'll go out here again, tide is going to be low by about 1pm, just when the wind is due to arrive.

You can download the files with navilink, that creates several files, the .KLM files can be loaded into googleearth to see your path.

Have you downloaded Roo's manual??? tells you how to install RealSpeed, that's what you need to analyse the data.

Decrep,

Try Resending the realspeed info to Mal again.

I gather you have down loaded your data with Navi, if so email me the nmea file and I'll run it through.

So you guys are using 2 software packages to read differing info from your NaviGT?

I have been reading most of the posts re the Navi, Realspeed seems the one?

Am I close?

Cheers GT

Mintox: For the competition it's better to use one program, so there are no arguments about
one software package calculating values differently. So if your track is nice and clean then
RealSpeed is probably the most common. Certainly it's the only package that can calculate
Alpha.

However no program is perfect, and I've found a couple of other programs clean up bad data
a bit better (GPSActionReplay, and GPSResults, both available for the mac as well. Linux users
would be best served by GPSActionReplay, as it's programmed in Java).
