Hi, a quick reply to some of the comments in this post:

1) Berg K1t3r - If some one buys a griffin kite from me and don't like it return it for a refund, no risk, in the last 2 years I have made 1 or 2 refunds.

2) lotofwind -The Monkey kites going bankrupt is just slander, go to monkeykites and read, it says something like, a few years ago we changed the designer and we changed from the cheep materials to teijin and we changed the kite designs, that is why the name changed, different kite different designer so different name, no one went bankrupt and any warranty and parts are still looked after.

3) I cant control what people post, I do my best to make my post relevant to the topic or replies to questions or replies to miss information. My posts are mostly well green thumbed. I will do my best so its know to distributors not to pimp, no one like pimping and it just give the brand a bad name.

4) Chill out, I go the the beach and design and improve kites, my priorities are to #1 make sure griffin riders are looked after and to keep on making a better kite, i suck at marketing, this may change for 2013, which starts in 2012 August, for kites that are developed in 2012 March.

5) Send boye a demo kite....

I think griffin should make a light wind/heavy fella kite for the 2013 season and call it the "peter"

To those who are complaining about this, why do you take "pimping" so personally?

Does it affect your life?

When someone "pimps" a product does it make kiting for you any different?

Shyzen, I couldn't care less either way. It's funny when people do make it as blatant as some of your examples, but really if they make money out of kiting then good for them pimping away. I'd do the same if kiting fed my family.

Especially when someone submits a report about someone else breaking the rules, while at the same time they are breaking the rules themselves. Makes it hard to take the report seriously...

The reportee is not necessarily Subculture. Perhaps the reportee was a business for unpaid advertising, or perhaps it was a punter for business attack. Not my point. I just wished to point out the irony of the reporter breaking the rules while reporting the reportee, and use that to highlight what a subjective exercise moderation is...

What do you mean protecting new buyers. Protecting them from what?

Actually I don't advertise the cheaper bananas at my local IGA store because that is why we can keep the prices down.

From what, I ask, you guys make it sound like Griffin kites are bad quality because they dont advertise on seabreeze, what a load of cr@p.
You think North is the best because they have the biggest advertising budget, how naive would you be to belive that!!!
Its like you start to believe something just because you get fed the same BS enough times.

I dont advertise my SUGARQUBE kiteboards on Seabreeze because I dont see the value for money they would have to be a lot more expensive to cover the cost of advertising here, I would rather pass on the discount to the customer, and it doesnt mean they are un proven or bad boards.

Steady sugarcube, my post wasn't directed at Griffin Kites per say. It covers all brands, especially those with the marketing machines behind them.
Although for the record in my experience, you do get what you pay for most of the time, but there are exceptions are course.

And, the actual retailer, KSS is a paying customer, I just believe this forum gets sanitized too often and could benefit from information about any brand thats out there, its a fact that any thread about Switch kites gets shot down, theres heaps of stuff out there, but I have to go to Euro sites to get information about that gear,

I actually agree with you sugarcube. But there is no reason why such a post can serve the purpose of balancing the ledger so the speak and help make the buyer beware. I've got no problems with crew writing about their kites, even if there is a vested interest. I enjoy their posts and in this case videos. But again it is sensible to highlight the pros and cons of reviews with vested interest.

First of all I would change the message of this post to a general one to avoid free advertising of any brand… a good marketing director used to tell: Talk about me… even if well…

Have you thought that with your negative attitude you could be promoting TRX tests??? With all your sarcastic comments people could feel the curiosity to try by theirselves what it's real or not…

If there is no interest in a post, no one will open it and anyone will answer it, and the post will just go down on the forum… A post with a lot of visits and answers really show an interest on it… If you don't like Griffin posts to be on the top, just don't open them or don't answer them… you are the first giving them the top positions…

Do you really think that if I create my own brand and make 5 posts about it in one month I will sell a lot of kites and will be rich in few days??? There is more than this…


Please, don't take it personally. I have only some qüestions to all that could feel identified with them. I'm not asking for any answer, don't waste your time and occurrence to answer me… I dont have any interest on it.

How can you talk about:

- pimping and free advertising when you are the first talking about Griffin kites even in posts that are asking for another brand reviews (with any relation with Griffin kites)??? Do you have any special interest in “pimping” against Griffin kites??? Could this interest break the forum rules???

- serious reviews and objective info when you are answering to most of the review posts even without having tested the kite being reviewed and giving no info related to the post in some/most of cases???

How can you criticize the use and rules of this forum when you:

- give trash info attacking Griffin to someone asking for another brand review (again with any relation with Griffin)??? What will this person think about the utility of this forum when getting any info about he was asking for and getting from you only “pimping” comments with any connexion with the opened post????

- open and support a post with any content specially opened to attack Griffin?? I must tell that this post was deleted by an admin because was really breaking the forum rules…


Please, if you are asking for something give your example first…

And if you think that there is some posts breaking the forum rules, don't answer to them. Just report to the administrators and they will decide. I could confirm you that it works.
