Granted boots have no place in big breaking surf but apart from that they prevent injury during impacts IMO. Did I mention the board can't hit you in the head in boots unless your into yoga??

I know this is from a while ago but thought I'd set you straight, it is definitely possible to cop the board in the back of the head while wearing boots..

I am by no means a flexible and managed to hit myself in the back of the head while wearing a pair of hyperlites. And I'm talking stitches bad. The missus was not impressed when I got home looking like the walking dead and asking for a lift to the hospital.

I did it by turning a railey into a full on scorpion, would not recommend.

I've never tried the asylum to compare it, but my 141 LF echo gets going pretty early the 016 echo has more rocker so may loose a bit of low end. How does the slingy fast track system compare to conventional inserts ?

Yea its easy to set up and allows you to really dial in your stance. Im 95kg so im thinking i need a bigger board.

What sort of winds do you require to be powered?

I may need to work on my riding style and stance.

i ride in vic and am similar spec, i find my 142 livewire works well for me, demo a few different things and see what works best for you. have found asylums need a bit more wind to get going.

I think it gives the board more flex... Could be wrong through

Anyone used the Slingshot Shedtowns for kiting? I'm looking to replace my old Ronix Ones and a few wakeboarders I know love the shedtowns for the cable.

What's with the current crop of "wake boot for kiting" questions? What did everyone use prior to the few recent kite specific boots being available... Foot straps?

The questions more around the shred towns durability as kiting obviously takes a higher toll on the gear. Kite companies bang on about "kite specific" boots being reinforced etc but most of them are just re-badged wake boots anyway
