Gizmo said...Hi Gerald welcome to seabreeze, if your wanting to build a yacht have a look at the plans for the Lake Lefroy Mini ......
www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=33825This design has been tried and tested and works VERY well for the newcommer and DIY builder. On seabreeze there are plenty of people here to help you if you have any building problems.
And remember this ...
it takes the same amount of effort and $$$ to build a good yacht as it does to build a dud one.
In Ireland and the UK most people tend to buy manufactured yachts.
There also in the UK a new mini yacht measurement being discussed based on a 5.6m length of rope forming a loop and the yacht would then fit inside that loop. The LLMini does indeed comply to that rule when it does come into force.
Here is a link to the Irish landsailing site.
